I never played one and I have been seeing them around now for pvp which would be the best way to engage them and which ship type should I be bringing to the fight? |

Last time I killed one solo I dropped Garde's at 25 and obliterated him in a few seconds.

99% of Stratios are fail fit, and are therefore incredibly easy to counter. In the rare 1% case you encounter a well fit Stratios, the pilot is still stupid enough to fly a Strat over any other drone cruiser, and therefore is still incredibly easy to counter. Just throw damage at it and it will die. I wear my goggles at night.

They're bonused to cloak and scanning, neither of which helps them in a fight. Any similar cruiser has a good shot, especially since most strats are exploration or shitfit. |

I may be still new to this game and yet I cant help but raise an eyebrow at a Stratios going into actual combat. While it's dronebay is generous and it's Drone Bandwirth allows it to drop four Sentries on it's own... I would only imagine a Stratios fighting only if it is unable to escape due to a Warp Disruptor attack.
I was planning to get a Stratios myself later on as I find exploration to be an exciting part of EVE I enjoy... Though I realize that if I do, I put a signifigant risk doing so. However the rewards may outweight the risk at times.
If 99% of Startioses are so-called 'failfits'... then what is a GOOD fit for a Stratios? |

Most Stratiosseseses are fit for PVE so some will have a hilarious nonsense fit with 17 WCS and 18 scanning rigs and analysers. Others will be PVE combat fit with low EHP and active tank but generally not enough tank to worry anyone with some decent dps output. It's just the purposely PVP fit ones that can be a danger and those you just don't see too often, they will be plated and come with neuts.
So generally they're flown by idiots with idiot fits and you should be fine against them if you fly something decent. If it's a proper PVP fit then in all likelihood it'll also be a proper PVPer in which case you're fcked. Because (obviously) he knows more and he decided to uncloak on you, which he'd only do if he had a good chance of winning.
Simply put; do not bring a PVE fit ship into a PVP situation, which effectively translates to "either make sure you're not caught or be sure you're PVP fit" Yes, yes-áI am. Thanks for noticing.

i killed one that was running a mission by capping him out with a pilgrim and using a bomber for DPS, apparently he enver thought to recall his bouncers and kill the bomber
Is it bad if your friend says "that was a Metaphor" and you say "Meta 4? Get Tech II or faction" ?I love the sound of silent explosions in Space.-á |
