Mining Tactic
If your looking to increase your mining output and reduce your station transfer time try using a Mobile Tractor Beam Depot. Deploy the MTBD and then jettison your ore when your ore hold is full. The MTBD will tractor and store the ore for pick up later on.
The MTU will not tractor other miners jet cans but will tractor in all abandoned wrecks.
Using an MTU will give you 27k of Ore cargo storage volume per MTU.
Place your MTU at intervals of 10k between each other and mine. Once you have cleaned the asteroid belt out simply return with a hauler and collect your ore.
Having ten MTU deployed in a belt will allow you too mine 270k units of Ore which will extend your mining operation greatly as you will not need to field an Orca and can mine without having to return to a station to drop your load.
Using an MTU might also keep Gankers from attacking your barge or orca directly if you have a large number of MTU in a belt. |

Not the right forum, but a very interesting posting all the same.
I am trying some nullsec mining now for the first time, and I think your ideas have some merit for that also. My hulk has a hard-time when BS rats spawn, so your MD idea might be helpful there. I've been jetcanning and miasmos hauling, but a pair or MTUs has the potential to allow me to move around within a cluster much more easily. Wherever my exhumer actually is becoems irrelevant, with the hauler just having to warp in to the MTUs ... and they will also tidyup the rat wrecks as a bonus.
Thanks for the idea.
I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder.

You can destroy a mobile with only becoming suspect - so no concord response in high sec.
Mining for sure is the foundation of production in EVE and thus the backbone of PVP - so protecting miners and increase output is an important task.
Mining in low, null and wh space will like the mobile - in high sec you will feed them gankers. |

You're a bit late to the party. Folks have been using MTUs in belts to haul cans for a while now. And while doing so can certainly help you protect an Orca (offgrid boosts FTW), using them certainly doesn't protect your barges, or your ore.

I use a smilar simpler tactic, I deploy a single MTU and bookmark it, then i set a timer using the free software "Free countdown timer for for windows" for 1hr 30minutes. the cans will last longer than that and its enough time to grab everything before they start popping even if you gotta go a few jumps in a Miasmos.
Another pro-tip Orca's improve your mining roughly 30% so you need at least 4 accounts to make it worth orca boosting as a single player.... significant gains begin at 5 accounts.... And with 5 accounts you may actually be busy enough mining to not want to kill your self XD....
Anyway if your an orca pilot place a MTU at your orca, use it to fill your orca, then once your orca is full set a 1hr 30 minute timer. before emptying the orca and clearing space of all cans.
Note: you can set up multiple MTU in a small space, but they will bounce wrecks between them so make sure you constantly salvage if your going to do this. or simply mine in .9 or 1.0.

except Isboxer exists and you can control 50 accounts with 1 mouse and a screen

Yes please! If miners could make their ore accessible to the public without having to go criminal, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I for one pretty much blap every MTU I see for no reason whatsoever.

Do you suggest placing the MTU / MD right at the belt or 125km 'behind' the belt warp in point? I think both positions would have their pros and cons.
