Evening all,
I soft launched this site a while back, and haven't had any bug reports on it, so here's the hard launch.
https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/things/
I am going to add a 'things I haven't voted on' page, but that's not going to happen quite yet.
Use the site to give us short form explanations of things you'd like to see change in eve, or things you'd like to see added.
(It's not on the CSM 9 site, because I wanted it behind SSL, and didn't want to have to pay for another IP address, and SSL certificate)
You log on with EVE's new single sign on, (check the url it sends you to. If it's not login.eveonline.com then there's a problem and you shouldn't continue) All it gives me is your Character ID, and something to let me know your character hasn't changed account. I can't determine what account it's on.
For now, voting is entirely private, with no interface to make it public. I can see how people voted, but that's needing me to go and dig into the database. Other than me, no-one will see who voted for what. I will make aggregated voting numbers visible to CCP and the rest of the CSM on demand.
Any thoughts or questions, drop them here and I'll answer. Other than that, have at it. Please keep it clean, I don't want to wave the banhammer. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

Bah. Limit put in place to ensure every thing is at least 5 characters long. (and the blank thing removed). I'll see about making it handle it a little more gracefully than it does now.
I'll have a think about how to handle the tags. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/

Serious question - if I had a proposal that was longerish (roughly 8 or 9 typed pages), how would I put that into the hands of my friendly CSM reps? De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null. |

A couple things I might suggest as additions: add a public display of the number of votes, another rating control for the presentation or details of the idea, the ability to create a sub-idea or counter-proposal that is similar to the original concept but has a different implementation. |

Steve what you really should have done is leave the site up for submissions only for a time, and then close the submissions and only then allow voting.
With your current system you have the earlier submissions collecting more votes than new ones, which has the effect of making newer, would-be popular ideas seem not as good as they are, and newer, crappy ideas seem better than they are.
IMO you should close voting right now and reset everything to 0 upvotes and downvotes, then after say two weeks of submissions you close that down and open up the voting again. Enjoying the rain today? ;) |

This could be solved by a rolling avarage on ideas, so, a list with most average votes of last months, and count could reset on each month (i.e.) |

We do keep an eye on the forums. However, this consolidates things down into an easy to search version, with a way for players to indicate if they like or dislike something. The dislike is the thing for forums don't do so well.
It also give Devs a change to flick through ideas quickly, when they're looking for something to do, to fill a small gap in the development cycle.
Oh, and unsafe? Using CCP's own SSO, where you give your username and password /only/ to CCP, and they tell me which character you selected, and nothing more? Steve, thank you immensely for creating this. I have thought for a while now that it's quite absurd that the devs don't have a way to better consolidate all the opinions that players are attempting to present to them. This will surely assist in that.
One thing I have noticed is that I don't seem able to "unvote" an item. Only can adjust the vote as +1 or -1. |

Steve, if devs cannot be bothered to read their own F&I forums in search for ideas (and there are multiple good and great ones already there) what's the point of posting them anywhere else. Because voting/likes system sucks on Eve forums? Yes it does but for me it only means one thing: CCP doesn't care about number of thumbs up/down next to OUR ideas, they do their own things and sometimes some of them just happen to be in line of somebody's suggestion.
There are multiple little things list on Eve forums already, in missions subforum, in F&I dedicated threads, in science I think there is also sth like this. People post ideas in CSM subforums too. And what? They all sooner or later die alone. But hey, at least we got more and more deployables \o/
I lost my drive to suggest or expect anything from CCP. I just look at every incoming "expansion"/release and hope to find at least a few things that I like or have interest in. Why do I keep paying my subs then? Well, it's still better than online casinos or crack. Invalid signature format |
