Is it true that the drones will no longer respawn after DT if you've cleared them all out already?

If you finish the mission, the drones will not respawn.
If you leave a few drones alive and leave, I think it will respawn.

you can kill all drones, but don't shoot Drone Bunkers in the second area. One of them triggers mission complete. I think you even can avoid killing all the stuff in second room if you shoot the right bunker (for fast mission completion) but I haven't checked.

This mission used to be worth farming...but since the alloy nerf it's not worth the time/ammo it takes to kill them all.
Rather reject it and hope for a World's Collide.
If it hadn't been for Hippo's (opinion) self glorifying thread in General, I would never have tried it. I've had WC twice in the last 2 weeks...and farmed it "casually" for around 500mil in that time. This morning I got offerred it again.
Even though I've had a number of faction spawns, I've not had any faction items drop (other than ammo, once). I've had 1 local hull expander, 30 or so 425mm railguns, an Arby Cruise launcher, a 425mm prototype, a number of 20% and 22% expanders, basically, tons of half decent items. Not to mention the 25mil or so in bounties you can get for stage 1 and the 2 stage 2's...and best thing... the ships respawn on their own timer... no waiting for DT. Just give it a few hours, and most, if not all, of the ships are back.
The Overseer spawns are on their own timer...from the time the mission is "activated" after each DT. You can have multiple Overseers in a 24 hour slot...and yes, there are still DG and Shadow Core spawns.

Destroying the drone structures is one of the objectives for this mission. If you leave them intact the drones respawn.

I'd farm WC if I could, but being 3 1/2 months old, I think that's bit too much for me :(
