BEND OVER BOYS HERE IT COMES!
I can see it now, a dev blog telling us how 8 turrets with the grid to use them and a ROF bonus on the Minnie ship is "like the most totally balanced thing ever".
Or the announcement that the Gallente one will get 8 turrets, a damage bonus, a drone bonus and oodles of Powergrid and then Tuxford will say with a straight face "It won't make the domi or the mega obselete because it only has one bonus from each of them."
Or an amarr ship with 8 turrets, 30k grid with skills an ROF Bonus, 6000 base cap and 8 low slots.
Or the utter travesty of a Caldari railboat with 8 turrets and a damage bonus becuase Javelin at 80 km isn't enough.
I like Tuxford and I like his approach, but the entire time these have been in development the rumblings have been that they will completely replace the existing ships in all concievable roles (IE Fleet combat) for the people who have the isk for them. It's just sad, some of us like seeing different ships in space, and the trend from CCP is to turn more ships into atrons and navita's (or tormentors, or herons etc) due to this slavish devotion to the asinine tier system that doesnt fulfill its purpose anyway.
Still Im not gonna hold it against Tux, he has a good head on his shoulders it just seems like the orders from on high in this regard were to make the existing ships obselete.
So sad.
The original stats on these ships were quite wild. They had stuff like double rate of fire bonuses, double damage bonuses and so on. Also the grid and stuff on them was pre-balance really, so TomB just gave them enough grid to fit pretty much anything they wanted. That is of course not gonna be the case.
Bottomline all speculations about these ships are founded on rumours based on static from very outdated test server and forum propaganda. Not really enough to blow a fuse over so just take a step back, wait for something more concrete data to come from us. _______________ |

Hyperion is a good name. I'm just pretty sure it was the name of one of the CONCORD ships before - maybe the battleship?
Would have preferred the Tornado/Tsunami for the Minmatar one though

Actually it looks like my earlier cynicism was warranted.
a Mega will never in any practical circumstance outdamage a Hyperion, nor will the Hyperion's weaknesses be difficult to mitigate with a standard fleet setup (And the extra mid).
The Maelstrom is the real disappointment, as much alpha with Minmater BS 1 as a Tempest has with Minmater BS 5. (No one uses those two extra highs, theres no fitting to)
And the Roc, wow it gets 8 turrets and can sling javelin out 80k.... thats the best damn damage bonus in the game.
Someone needs to DPS chart these things with the most likely configs. I'm at work so I can't do it at the moment. Click Me

Well its a pish bonus compared to rest, nice but not exactly real useful.
If your a blaster boat then you will have skills and with skills you can do the MWD np and tank and shoot and keep cap. If your that far out to need THAT much cap then you are quicker warping out and back in close everytime anyhow.
So lets see every race gets some tank loving and were logicaly and I realy do mean logical as these bonus to tanks taken from other ships down the line in same race the galante should be 7.5% boost to armour rep amout per level. These do seem to peel of from the BC bonus's within the respective races.
Now the galante gets MWD bonus which you can get of the faction ship. But as said its a pishy bonus compared to the other races but there again I'll prolly go for the caldari rail boat T2 rails and ammo and laugh at blaster boats alas :(.
Still better than nothing and good for the lower skilled peeps so I'll happily ignore them for now and enjoy command l5 and my astarte once me PC stablised and I get time to play :)).

Can we please change the gallente bonus for MWD cap penalty to 10% per lvl. Right now its not realy a bonus, only a partial reduction on ONE of the penalties of a module that not everyone uses.

Right now, NO IT CAN'T!
Caldari ships CANNOT use Javelin, particularly ones with a lot of turrets. Sure, maybe you could use it on your Merlin, but how the hell are you supposed to fly a shield-tanked ship at close range with 20% of your shields and 20% of your velocity? ------------------ Originally by: kieron Buy ISK for RL cash here!
