Edited by: Lysithea on 06/10/2003 07:02:02 Does this skill currently work? The description says:
Operation of shield hardeners and other advanced shield modules. Bonus: 5% reduced chance of damage penetrating the shield.
Can I assume it gives a 5% bonus per level to shield hardeners? If that's the case, it isn't working. I tested using a Photon Scattering Field on my ship with a base 0% EMP resistance. When I checked info, it said I had the normal 50% resistance (i.e. no bonus for the skill I have trained to level 3).
Am I incorrect about what this skill does?

currently, it only enables the use of shield harderners, however, what the skill actually does is to prevent the "shield piercing" skill, which doesnt exist in the game yet really, so training it to higher than lvl 1 is really of no point atm. __________________________________________________________ |

Not true!
When your shields are falling to a low level, you will notice that your armor starts to take damage. Not sure which it is but its either the higher your tactical shield skill the lower the shields can fall before you start taking armor damage, or it reduces the amount of 'seep through' thus reducing damage to armor. Of course when your shield goes completely it has no effect.

And missiles seem to seep through, independant of shield strength.... (though I might be wrong about this)
