X ChaosX Caldari	Posted - 2006.07.27 21:14:00 - [31] People dont pay ransoms alot because of a few pirates that dont honor ransoms. Another reason they dont pay is that the pirates dont get alot of money, I guess they figure "if I cant hurt them with guns, I'll hurt them with money".

That way you can learn the trade, and with some work on shopping / producing, you wont loose much if you get killed. After a while you get enough experience so that the only time you loose a ship is when you willingly take a risk. That might be a good time to start using more expensive stuff.

You come and destroy it, my most valuable possesion....and then you ransom my pod? The price of a new clone is a drop in the bucket compared to a cruiser and fittings. Why would I throw more money at you after you made me lose a few millions? I only have the newbie tutorial implant, that's nowhere near worth as much as my ship. To sum up: Young players care more about their ship than their pod. If you're so desperate for easy pickings, think things all the way through.

I started pirating hardcore about 1 week ago, so far i have lost: x2 Thorax's x1 Enyo's x2 Catalyst's I've killed x2 Caracals with a buddy of mine and had a few close escapes on some Interceptors/AF's while i flew Catalyst and a buddy of mine in a jamming Merlin at EC gate, great fun haha.
