This is why D-2 is hoping on the BoB bandwagon. They can't handle a bunch of newbie corps and their friends. However I will make my point as best as I can. Goons have been told repeatedly that Smoske was a respected and well liked player and that his friends don't take insults to him lightly. Goons seem to see making fun of Smoske as nothing serious and that all the fuss is players using their dead friends memory for political advantage. Goons I think you're wrong. I think you underestimated the depth of feeling on this. People who didn't Smoske thought it was offensive. His friends appear to be incensed. I think when people tell you that they are ****ed about this issue MAYBE THEY'RE TELLING THE TRUTH? As for timing. I had to read several of the goonie threads posted just today before I figured it out myself. The post that made public the goons players forum sig on their internal forums was posted today. Within hours of the post making public that one of the goon players had an internal forum sig making fun of Smoske's death SirMolle stated his intention to eliminate GoonSwarm. BoB declares their intent within hours of discovering about the forum sig. Timing explained. I think this is an example of culture clash. Goonies are a large group many of whom came from the SA forums together. They have their own internal culture, which is clashing with the established culture that has evolved in Eve in the last 3+ years. Honestly I can't say I'm suprised by BoB's actions. The fact that goonies appear to be suprised tells me that they don't quite understand Eve politics completely. And don't bother calling me a BoB fanboi. I'm not a fan of BoB and I can't think of any member of BoB that if they even knew who i was would say anything nice on me. It's going to be an interesting weekend to watch.
