My favorite L4 mission running setup is:
4x 350mm Prototypes with AM and Iridium or Lead, depending on the mission.
2x Drone Link Augmenters
1x Gist Type B AB
4x Eutetic Cap Rechargers
4x Rat Specific T2/Faction Hardeners
1 CPR
1 TS MAR
1 SS LAR
5x Sentry Drones
5x T2 Lights
5x T2 Mediums
5x T1 Heavies
1x Spare Heavy (if I loose a drone, it's almost always the slow-arsed heavies getting popped before I can scoop them)
I've tried the 2x-4x NOS setups with Medium rails, used it for quite some time based on popular wisdom, and it ain't great. If you've got Large Hybrid skills, use them. I like the beefy 350's to help my drones drop BS's MUCH quicker, and they have a good reach with Iridium or Lead, great for pegging incoming frigs and cruisers, or taking out sentry guns while my drones are handling something else.
Setup works even better with Tech II Cap Rechargers if you can swallow the cost. Sometimes I'll fit 5x hardeners and ditch the CPR, usually for Jakars in Midst of Deadspace.
The True Sansha MAR (360 hp/180 cap) usually keeps up with steady (resisted!) damage just fine, and the LAR is used in bursts. I run the Shadow Serp LAR just to save on PG, other than that a T2 works just as well. For that matter, I used to run the same setup with Acommodation Medium and Large reppers, and it still worked, just not as well.
With my cap skills, the cap rechargers and CPR, my cap recharge time is 250 seconds, so I can run for a few minutes with both reppers and all four hardeners going, AM firing in the 350's and AB being used. AB, MAR and Hardeners run forever, as do MAR, guns and hardeners, etc.
Tractor beams do NOTHING to affect your survival chances...NOTHING. I'd rather kill them quicker and take more time to loot, than the other way around. Did I mention that Tractor Beams do NOTHING for your survival? If you don't have Large Hybrid and Gunnery support skills, well, get them, they're worth it.
CRIPPLING a Domi's DPS while mission running by ignoring its ability to fit large guns is shameful. It's even more shameful if you do that to fit tractors. Drone links are reasonable, NOS is understandable, but TRACTORS? Unforgivable.
I think I've beat that dead horse enough for now. ;)
A good T2 or better AB will get you to the cans in a timely manner if you want to loot in the Domi, and more importantly, an AB gives you much more control over the engagement, and if you're all about efficiency, that AB will get you to the gates or next target faster too. I use the Gist because it's fairly cheap for a faction mod, has great speed and great efficiency, but even a T2 is a big help.
