The following information and invitation comes to you not as a Goon, but as a person and member of the Eve community.
For those of you that don't know, Vile Rat was one of the most influential players in Eve's history. He was respected and admired by friends and foes alike; serving Goonswarm as our lead Diplomat, improving EVE and the community as a CSM member, and playing a major role in shaping the universe that we play in today.
Sean "Vile Rat" Smith was killed two years ago today in Benghazi, Libya at the US Consulate. "Goon" or "not a goon" aside, VR's death was a loss to all of Eve, and he is greatly missed. As a show of how much VR impacted Eve, the community donated over $127,000 to Sean's family to help with living expenses and for college tuition for his children.
I recommend everyone read the CSM's "Tribute to Sean 'Vile Rat' Smith" and the moving article from Mittani linked therein.
Vile Rat Memorial Shoot Blues Op
This is an open invitation to all players to participate in the NPSI(Not Purple, Shoot It) event in remembrance of Vile Rat.
Date: Sunday, September 14 at 11:30 EVE (after downtime) and continues until 08:00 EVE the following Monday
Location: All of Deklein (Except YAO- all of CFC will shoot you and not each other in YAO)
Only Requirement: Fleets of 50 or less
We encourage everyone to come up to Deklein in fleets of 50 or fewer people in whatever fleet comp you'd like to run. We have everything from drake fleets to kitchen sink fleets to jump freighter fleets, so bring anything you can fly and get up to Deklein on Sunday. Any fleets larger than 50 will be completely ganged on, so don't be that fleet. We may even allow safe passage to some nearby dockable stations so you can reship!
Set your alarm clocks, cancel your "real" life plans on Sunday, and get up to Deklein for a full day of nonstop fun. Remember- if it's not purple, shoot it! We hope that streamers get up there and record this monumental event, and hope to see a CCP fleet join in on the action.

Because the Legacy Code has too much Psssssssssssssssh, nothing will ever get fixed until CCP stop wasting money on failed sparkle MMOs and instead rewrite the entire backend of EvE from scratch. |

For those who did not read it all. We will be splitting up our fleets into gangs of no more than 50. Expect carriers nano dreads and good old drake fleets.
