LVL 4 mission in a battlecruiser?

Kai Linn	Posted - 2006.08.01 20:24:00 - [1] Hi, I'm wondering if its possible to do lvl 4 mission with a battlecruiser. Or is that only possible with battleships? I found that battlecruisers are a bit slow and I don't want to fly anything slower than that(ZZzzz)...so I'm thinking about going for command ships and skip battleships, but lvl 3 missions aren't too much profitable.
Cupdeez	Posted - 2006.08.01 20:52:00 - [2] Ya.. you might be able to do them in a Battlecruiser but it will take you a long long time and some missions you might need help to kill some of the npc's. Now for the command ships you can do the missions with out any real problem. I do them in my command ship all the time. Some might even go faster in a command ship becauser the guns can hit the little guys better. some of these post were people say it takes 3-4 hours to do in a battleship I have done them in 1-2 hours. So far on all the missions I only had to warp out 3 times and when I did some of these missions the 2 or 3rd time I didn't. hope this helps

Depko	Posted - 2006.08.02 09:43:00 - [5] I assume you can't fly a BS if you want to do lvl4 in a BC. A single BS is usually not enough to do lvl4 in a reasonable time and its very risky. You can ba scrambled by 18 ships in some missions and BC can no way shoot them fast enough without running out of capacitor. A also wonder if the firepowqer of a BC is high enough to kill some stronger BSs in lvl4. in a lvl4 you can be attacked by 3 BSs at the same time and scrambler byt other 3 intercetors while shooted by 10 cruisers. I think a BC with basic skills is too weak for lvl3, not to mention lvl4. And i think the reward/time ration will be worse for you in lvl4 that in lvl3.
Egil Kolsto	Posted - 2006.08.02 18:39:00 - [6] I am trying just this. So far I am 4 for 4 with level 4 missions. The Ferox make for an excellent tank for me, roughly 11k shield and resists 70-80 rat specific. Using a smaller than regular intended ship you tend to fly a tad more catious, strapping on two small tractor beams I normally clean up the loot in time to dock if they ever get close to my Armour. I had the same argument you did but added to the fact was that my level 3 agent was quality -8 and the level 4 in Motsu is Quwality 19. My former 300-800 LP is now up to roughly 3k per mission. Also, level 4 missions are a lot more challenging (so far) and you avoid getting bored as the level 3 started to be. Some of the command ships looks awesome for mission running but have a lot higher skill threshold, hence I am aiming towards the Raven. (Caldari pilot) Safe hunting!

But now, I'm skilled up and have soloed every level 4 kill mission except World's Collide now. Tempting to go get my Brutix and try again with more skills now...but afraid. And to correct a previous poster's comment, it IS time-efficient and not very risky to do level 4's solo in a BS. What's not efficient and low risk about it? I've lost 4 battleships in 5 months of level 4's. Stupid mistakes, too. Like lag, warping just a bit too late, wrong fittings. I'd say making 750 mil a month on level 4's plus loyalty points is well worth the solo risk. With a faction medium armor repper or 2, and good tank, just maybe you could do level 4's in the bc's. Oh yeah...excellent skills, too. Good luck.
Shadarle	Posted - 2006.08.02 22:43:00 - [8] Level 3's are not bad money. You should be making 5-10 mill isk per hour if you are actively playing... if you arn't then you are doing something wrong. Mind you, I was making this much with 1.5 mil SP (200k of which were learning or so). Level 3's are incredibly good money if you use tractor beams to loot every can. If you don't loot every can than I understand why you make so little :)

I'm planning to get the skills for a claymore instead of the sleipnir, because claymore is a better support for groups and it looks like to tank better than the sleipnir. Six medium slots "drools". Now I'm worried if a claymore has enough firepower to take down battleships, or even with it I should skip lvl 4 missions because of them? I'm having a lot of fun with lvl 3 missions, but I would like to fight battleships.

The sleipnier gets bounces to damage and in lvl 4 missions I have trouble with some of the final BS because of the crazy tank they have. The claymore has better resistance and has that extra slot but lacks fire power and lots of it. Thus you will not be-able to ***** that tank in this ship. If your going to train for a ship and want to use it for pvp/missions get the pvp version not the support ship. Although the sleipnir still can use the gang mods as a support ship. My setup i get about 84% to 3 resistances or 80% accross the boards. The tank on these things is crazy. That extra mid slot cost you a low slot which is very big also. These things tank fine you need the fire power. just my .02 cent since i run lvl 4 agent missions in on.

Heck, you can complete some lvl4's in a punisher frig! Lvl4's range from fighting and beating a few cruiser rats, to taking on half an armada. Yes! You can easy complete most of the courier, trade and mining missions in a BC :) ------------ Which slot do I use for an exotic dancer?
