So your schedule determines your political interests for you in this universe? Interesting...
I saw that, too. One more reason to stay away from it :/ Regarding the RP aspect EVE has been a major let-down so far (especially with the high hopes the detailed background raised).

I kind of see where you're coming from, but staying away from this sort of thing ensures that it will just be a straight kill-fest. No matter what you think of the events at the end of the day it's the players that do the RP so if we don't take part we can't complain if there isn't any.
I think my chances of actually winning even the qualifying matches are pretty slim - but I'm going to give it a damn good try and attempt to have some fun in process.

Actually, the way the rules are set up for the contest, whoever uses missile boats would lose.

My favored house fights at a time that... errr... ensures I'd loose just because I'd fall asleep at the console.
The succession should have been handled as prime fiction - maybe with two possible outcomes and slugged out in a civil war where players might still have tipped the balance in this or that direction by assisiting in NPC battles.
This succession is a circus - and most earnest Amarr roleplayers will have trouble to accept an Emperor whose champion won in let's say a Kestrell. *sigh* There's a reason why some of us have already gone into self-imposed exile :/

... If something like that indeed happened, wouldn't the earnest roleplayers use it as nice source material for further roleplay, rather than source of complaints? o.O

The earnest roleplayers have the power to eliminate such contestants right from the start with their vote.
I sort of doubt that any would-be champion that promises to use only Amarrian ships would get less votes than one who either carefully avoids the issue, or claims that other races' ships are clearly better... ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."

t0rfiFrans,
16. Targeting, shooting and destruction of an opposing team memberĘs escape pod will result in the immediate disqualification of the offending team.
We need some clarification on this rule. Does this include splash damage from missiles and smartbombs?
Thanks.

I think pods should be immediately warped away by force... I wonder if you can use your non-amarr wingmen as (sub)human shields to disqualify your adversary... that wouldn't be fair

Edited by: Rebell on 11/10/2003 21:23:50 I have a question regarding the location of the fights. I understand we will be transported to a void where we can duke it out without outside interference.
Do we still have to meet at a central location where we have to transport our replacement equipment/ships? If so, what is that location? If it is not known, could it be possible to inform us of that location 3-4 days before the fights are scheduled to start, in order to give us enough time to transport our ships and everything?
Thanks --- ...I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is EVE? Control. EVE is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into a beta tester. |

Amarr Prime is where you will meet up with your referees. So collecting ships and munitions somewhere in Amarr is a good idea.

1) pre-cahmpionship fights....do you also have wingmen there? 2) are wingmen allowed of every race? 3) does it matter which race frigate you use?

A few more details on the how-to would be cool, Torfi!
Pre-finals with 5 fights max for a given team means that each team needs 5 complete sets of ships/equipment near amarr? Or will destroyed ships of the wining team be automatically restored?
Next: Please - with only a few days left till the fun starts GIVE us the info about WHICH SHIPS ARE ALLOWED! or, to say it with few words: is it Kestrel vs Kestrel?
Thx! Serge, applying for house Temal Kador! ***********************************************

Questions that desperately needs answer BEFORE the weekend;
1. Are any race frigates allowed?
2. Will splash damage kill from missles, killing a pod, count as a discualifcation?
3. Are wingmen from any race allowed?
All these 3 questions needs answers. And long before the weekend so we can adapt to it.
Those 3 questions are easy to answer, and ALL champions needs to know. If we dont know, how will we be able to prepare or choose wingmen?

I was under the impression that Ardishapur (for sure) and also Sarum didn't take non-Amarrian wingmen.
But I agree all three questions need an answer ASAP.

I asked the devs and they'll publicise a more detailed rule format soon in which your questions will hopefully be answered.
Don't despair, help is on the way ;)

I know people have been busy recently but we really need an answer to these questions, some of which have been asked mutliple times in these sticky threads. Take the frigate races for example, what equipment I bring along will depend on what opposition I can expect (ie fleets of Kestrels or not) and which types of equipment we train with in preparation.

Exactly.
Either that or reschedule the Championship to let us ponder the new information that should be given ;/

I asked this elsewhere, but if someone who can only bring themselves and no wingmen, gets drawn against someone with 3 wingmen.
Will the match be 1on1 or 1on4
