I'd like to introduce my latest creation, Carebearium.
It's a solar system finder tool, aimed at those wishing to find a suitable home for their highsec missioning / industry characters.
Carebearium allows you to find solar systems by:
- Industrial indices;
- Distance to trade hubs / other solar systems;
- Asteroid belt concentration;
- Presence of agents of your liking;
- Player activity;
- And more!
No logins, no API keys, no payments, only the data you need.
So go ahead, give Carebearium a try! |

Electrified Circuits wrote:Excellent job on a simple tool that gives useful info.
You should look at making other tools too, i love the design interface etc this could work for other eve apis filtering certain interesting data
I actually have done some others:
- Friendly Merchant, for finding where to offload your loot / salvage. Now largely irrelevant after recent reprocessing changes
- Failcascade, because deep down we all are carrion birds

Neugeniko wrote: Nice! I did a similar thing with google spreadsheets recently. Cool Work.
Actually, your spreadsheet was what made me develop this thing.
I used yours, but it didn't have some data that I wanted. Tried looking at your spreadsheet and querying SDE for the systems that looked good. But that was messy as hell, so I wrote Carebearium :) |

Markus El'kar wrote:Nice tool - but the agent # would be way more useful if you could filter by agent level.
You can - filter by 'Specific agent', select for example 4 from 'level' dropdown, and it will show you the number of level 4 agents in the system.
Can't currently order by this tho, technical limitation. Probably my skill with given tech limitation. |

No way to filter by multiple regions at the moment, no.
However, I just added a feedback service, and listed that as one of things to implement. Go vote on it, or add even more suggestions! |

Minor update tonight, adding option to filter for dead-end systems and systems that can spawn ice belt anomalies (highest voted suggestion currently!). |

Ginger Barbarella wrote:1. Need to be able to search 2. Slide index slider all the way to the right; all systems vanish. Slide back to left; still gone.
If you mean searching by name, I'm not keen on implementing that, same reason as why there is no paging - I want the focus to be on narrowing down search results rather than browsing. But if you feel it's necessary, put the idea in suggestions list, I'll add the feature if it gets votes.
As for sliders, seems like you focus both sliders on one value, and no systems match that particular value. What's worse, when you click to drag one slider, both move, as they are in the same position now. You can unstuck them by clicking (not dragging) on a part of the range that's not currently selected. |

Fergus Runkle wrote:Adding in the planet types available in the system (for PI) would be very nice.
Seems straightforward and useful. Noted in suggestions list.
I'm currently in the middle of a major overhaul to accommodate low/null systems. Planets could be one of the first new features once it's done.

The overhaul has been finished - calculations now run right in your browser.
But more importantly, Carebearium now lists both lowsec and hisec systems!

Null is going to happen. It's not as simple as I'd like it to be (mainly getting information about stations), but it's going to happen.

More functionality added today - moons and planets. You can now filter by total moons / planets in a system, as well as specific kinds of planets.
Also some smaller improvements: minimum distances for gate / jump drive travel are back in, you can filter by multiple values in region / owner filters, and cloning has been added to station services filter.

A new release:
- Every filter can now be reversed to match only the systems that DON'T meet specified criteria. For example, a security filter matching 0.1 - 0.4 systems reversed would match -1.0 - 0.0 and 0.5 - 1.0 systems.
- Added filtering by distance to closest system of particular security status (high / low / nullsec). Handy to find those JF transfer points.
- As a result of previous item, there's now a 'System feature' -> 'Hisec island' filter. Use that to find those secluded islands, or reverse it to exclude them.

With release of Phoebe, Carebearium waves goodbye to reverse engineering indices and related filters. Everything else seems to be in order for the new expansion.

As far as I know you can currently query the API only for tax rates of POCOs owned by your corporation, so that's not something I can add at the moment.
Instead, I can bring you a general update of the project.
- In broad strokes, the next planned features: solar system detailed view, neighbouring system details and (limited) historical view.
- I'm preparing to move the site from Heroku to a dedicated server - the current plus planned features have outgrown what Heroku supports at reasonable price point.
- Some university projects are due early december, so I'm prioritising that. Oh, and work.
The above means the next meaningful new features will coincide with my next batch of free-ish time: christmas.

Oh hey, thanks for reminding that the taxes are different due to standings - that complicates things even more. Barring huge changes, this feature is not going to happen then.
