I believe you can take a carrier into some of the higher level complexes. Those can make a lot of money, so you may want to consider going to some. ---------- |

many creative things:
go to a 0.0 system with lots of npcers.. and use corp mates or alts to fly around tackling them.. and send a swarm on them. or go to a low sec agent runner system.. and when people are just about to warp to their mission spot. send drones after them. and see the pain in local lol.

Dark: The carrier is a complex beast when it comes to PvP. If you don't have substantial experience with regular drones and supporting a gang then I wouldn't recommend flying one.
For a capital ship, carriers have very poor HP. They also have no weapon hardpoints, and can be jammed, webbed, scrambled just like anyone else.
Honestly, it may sound like an elitist answer but if you can't work out for yourself how to use one then I strongly suggest taking it for a spin on the test server first. ----------------------------------------------- CRY HAVOC! And let slip the combat drones! To meander aimlessly towards your target... Perhaps stopping for a picnic along the way... And then turn |

I wonder how much this character cost him/her/it to know so little about capital ships yet evidently be four days from being able to FLY them.

I suggest you
a) dont buy the carrier b) wait until you know enough about the game pvp to buy one and then by that time you should be able to answer this question on your own
Chances are from the sounds of it you will lose the carrier and they aint cheap -------- Kill em all and let god sort em out

Well... usually you start pvping in small ships, like frigs, but since you are obviously old enough and clone is expensive... sell carrier and buy few battleships, few t2 frigs and maybe a hac...
When you blow them all up, go buy carrier... or maybe you won't even be interested in that anymore. --------- Torture by ccp: pic |

You could give it to me. I will gratefully recieve any donations of a free carrier if anyone fancies giving one away, I wont even charge you customs duty.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

Seeing he has no clue how carrier works, boonaki was only adding the cherry on the cake.
Since the Op did mention he had no idea what were jump drives or how they worked.

We killed a carrier today in under 60 seconds. Before that we killed a carrier in under 20 seconds... both had undocked from a station.. and decided it would be good to try to gank one of our guys baiting it. UNDER 60 SECONDS! That is how fast your ship will go poof if you don't know what your doing. That means it was before it could get one rep cycle completed on its capital armor rep and before its agro timer expired so it could redock.
If you don't have a good idea of what a Carrier's capabilities are.. and how quickly they can go down. Fly one on the test server. You realllllly have to get a feel for a ship before you start using it in PvP. You cant solo with it... well you can... but its a roll of the dice before a 10 ship fleet gets wise and decides to take you out. I always say fly a ship you can afford to lose. If all your isk is sunk into that beast... play with it on the test server first. Once your confident... and... most importantly you have a fleet backing you up (with fleet battle experience... and lots of it) that knows what they are doing you have a good chance of doing well with it. If not... don't undock that thing for PvP.

So killing one makes you the all knowing master of knowledge regarding how carrier perform? Your thanatos kill is pathetic, the guys skills were pathetic, his setup has n-type hardeners.
You didn't have amazing firepower either. Don't judge all the Carrier abilities because you ganked a noob.
And before you make yourself sound like a total unexperienced fool, how about you look at the activation time on a capital armor rep.
Bad example. Now quiet.

Yes, an ass? A noob, you base that on what? Quiet little one.
Originally by: Jade Ro if your refering to the Aurora Killboard.. that killboard has a very very small fraction of my kills posted.
Your own fault now is it?
Originally by: Jade Ro It is date locked to allow only kills from a couple weeks back.
My fault? No. The way you structure your sentence, it makes it sound like you killed 2 Thanatos, within 2 minute. Now, it's my fault for assuming things because you simply can't express yourself?
Originally by: Jade Ro You have proven yourself with out me having to argue this point a total ass hole and a noob.
