Pureblind is still dangerous monsieur; and the NVA is fighting a war to clear the region of illegals and scoundrels. If you were to travel there without your TTI tags then you must go carefully, check local for the presence of known brigands when entering each system, and make sure your autopilot doesn't carry you automatically into an ambush.

Monsieur Calladen
Quote: I was wondering what the level of access is to Venal for non-NVA members at the moment. I've left some things up there from a couple of months ago when I left and would like to retrieve them. Is the area open to all yet or still under blockade?
Pureblind and Venal is open to friendly and independent traffic. But there are some restrictions; Y-4 and 6NJ (as outlined by Athule). Also mining tariffs and agreements are still in the discussion phase so no large-scale non NVA mining is currently permitted.
You will be able to make the trip to recover your possessions but I advise you to liase with NVA fleet assets by local comms and make your intentions clear.
Also, be very aware that Pureblind is a pirate blackspot and dangerous.

To get back on topic once again, how would one go about to seek membership or a permit to move freely within the NVA territory? Surely a 1 man corp can't be that large a mining threat, not to mention my by now hopefully wellknown dislike for mining when I can buy ready minerals and save the time sitting in the field.
Also from the last exchange of opinions I take it that indeed people still act on what is essentially rumors...

A set of fat secure containers with the TTi corp tag on them appearing over a week into the ceasefire is more than just a rumour. If it is an honest mistake then they and the TTi miners will leave.

Maybe we are being a bit paranoid. Of course, given the recent history of Venal, I'd much rather be a little paranoid than a lot dead.

I think some people are getting a little paranoid here. TTI has not been mining in Venal, and has no intentions to.
There is no pact with SI. And as far as we can tell there is no evidence of any TTI activity in the area beyond one person deploying a couple of secure cans. Requests for any further names or evidence hasn't been forthcoming.
In addition we had always assumed that inclusive in the ceasefire was not being shot in the region while moving our assets, although we've been avoiding even that for now in case its misconstrued.
Here are the chatlogs from yesterday, edited only to remove the name of the pilot who apparently deployed the can. After that is my subsequent post on our internal forums. I'll let people make up their own minds as to our intentions in this matter, and whether its being blown out of all proportion.

Posted: Wed Oct 08, 2003 1:41 am Post subject: DO NOT mine in Venal at the moment
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparenly some people have been mining, or at least deploying secure cans in the region (right in Y-4CFK even).
Until an agreement as reached, the terms of which are far from certain, we just have a temporary ceasefire. This does not mean we can resume operations in the area, and I'd strongly advise staying out of Y-4 and 6N altogether, given the NVA members don't seem 100% clear on what their policy is at the moment either.
NVA are getting touchy about what they see as some recent violations of our temporary accord, and are talking about opening fire on anyone mining or otherwise seen operating in the region.
So as before, if in doubt, do nothing. Don't operate in Venal, but don't go out of your way to move stuff out either, as any significant presence will no doubt increase tensions.
Talks continue on all fronts, so please help ease the process by staying as uncontroversial as possible - thanks.
