So far I've found it pretty underwhelming. But that's only because industry isn't something I enjoy in EVE, which a large part of the releases have focussed on.
Of course, if industry is your thing then that's great, your time has come (after just 10 short years lol).
I'm hoping something comes along which renews my interest in the game. It hasn't happened yet, but we'll see.
What do you think about the new release schedule? Is it like living on a drip feed on life support, or a constant stream of riches? EVE Chronicle: An audio drama set in the EVE universe

Drip fed as you call it will always seem underwhelming as by the time the new drip comes along, people would have gotten used to the last one.
Just a matter of people getting used to little and often. Don't think of them as mini expansions, just think of them as continual enhancements/improvements.
Industry is not my thing either, but an improvement is an improvement even if it's something I won't use. |

I love it. You get some new tidbit every so often, and it's better than waiting a few months for a feature that's been done for ages.
Iterative improvement is something this game has needed for a very long time, especially after Incarna nearly killed the whole thing. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

a lot of people (op included) just dont get how it works, shorter release cycle wont means that they only have smaller projects, just that while the guys working on longer-term projects strife onward, the guys working on all those small quality of life and easy done fixes can release them when they are ready, without waiting for the bigger stuff. |

While not having the big expansions of olden times will feel kind of weird, and personally I liked getting all that content at once, I can see the technical benefits of releasing things in the 'drip feed' style. Lets the smaller improvements come out sooner and gives them more time in the spotlight to be bugfixed faster, while letting the longer term projects still soldier on at the old pace. ~ Remissus |

Oh dear fool. I do understand. I am just saying that what I have seen so far has not been terribly interesting to me and that that situation may change.
Your opinion may differ. But you won't get very far misinterpreting what I have said.

Do they intend to release large expansions (projects)? Larger projects can always be introduced in smaller pieces.
Advantage of smaller pieces is it's likely to be easier to find errors/bugs. |

Think their information is to close to the release date. For example, the interceptor changes are supposed to be coming with the next release, which is less then 2 weeks away. Theres no information on the changes yet. |

The new system has no major effect on project sizes. It is more or less the same development, but with more release points throughout the year. It means more releases, but only a few of those will likely contain the kind of major content blocks/changes, that were the main features of previous expansions. It can also allow potentially larger projects, since previously they were limited by the expansion schedule. Now there is less pressure for a project to fit in the expansion cycle no matter what its condition was or be stripped down because it would be too large to fit the old release cycle. We will see better how it works overall and what problems it has after it has been around for 12 to 18 months. |

+1.
Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? If you have not, I highly recommend it, but if you have, you should remember the scene where the protagonist gets sentenced to death because the crops don't start growing immediately after they get watered.
I for one only miss the trailers. I want trailers. I love EVE cinematics, even if they don't reflect the actual gameplay, they are always a spectacle for me. I even enjoyed Incarna (what? admit it, that space battle was pretty darn cool).

So far I'm pretty pleased. Like many other people (I think), I'm waiting to see where we are six months out to see if there's a noticeable improvement in the game. I like the smaller releases because it allows CCP to make incremental changes at a reasonable pace. This lowers the likelihood of them NGEing us (poor SWG fans) which I'm concerned about because several core gameplay mechanics could use tweaks.

I really like the new style 'smaller releases'
My only concern would be if the patches from each release were keep rolling over and accumulating from small release to small release.
Even if one has no real interest in a particular small release, another one will be along shortly. This is not a signature. |

It helps them make more money, which is a good thing, as long as they keep releasing new things people can buy.
It also gets people easier hooked and caters to shorter attention spans, which also means more money in the long run. Quote miiral: 'umm, looks like your "busy" ;)' (: :) |
