alright, so after some heavy expenditure, and some lengthy skill training, i am now in a position to fly a battlecruiser. specifically the Cyclone.
unfortunately, my ISK supply is running low, as such i want to know, how can i make money in the most effective way whilst staying in high security space (i'm solo, and not prepared for PvP at the moment, so i would prefer to stay on the safe side of things untill such a time as my skills and equipment are ready to take me into the PvP arena).
currently i run combat missions, mine, and run deadspace complexes in my destroyer. so, how can i make 20+ million in 0.5 security space or higher?
Thanks in advance. Iy.
(P.S. if this should be in a different section, i appologise, there wasn't really a "how to make money" forum available) ========================================== Iy |

By doing what you're doing. I would highly reccomend you fly cruisers before using b/c. If you can't afford to buy one pretty easily, you probably can't afford to outfit it well enough to do well.

And this is the reason I wish you could loan money in eve. I want to help out the new players, but you just can't trust 'em.

woah. that's really generous. but i don't know weather i'll be online tonight, i'm at work until 10pm (bst).
I do currently fly a belicose as well as my thrasher, i use them both for mission running. but i feel that cruiser deadspace runs might be a little too hard for me at the moment. ========================================== Iy |

Get a rupture as a stepping stone, and run missions/plexes in that.

Contracts baby!
anyhow, I'm a miner by trade, So obviously, I'm gonna suggest mining.
off the isogen alone, you can make about 4mil/jetcan with omber, 3 with kernite. Granted its not much, but it is a start. The problem with mining is that its time consuming.
mabey some low sec ratting would be good for you, get yourself in a stabber and take out a few Rats. A lot of the time you can get really good drops, such as rare named NOSs and such, which will bring ya a few mil each.

Missions. Once you get to lvl 3 missions you should be able to make several million per mission. More if you get a nice rare item drop. few hours of that and you'll be set.

Iyanah, try selling the bellicose for slightly below normal in a trade hub for fast cash (Rens is a trade hub).
Use that money to buy new fittings + insurance for a rupture.
I Find the rupture to be the best cruiser in the game, people will probably say thorax, but really...Ruppy is the most versatile cruiser in the game (and pwns thorax tbh =D)
Try using 220mm Autocannons on the Rupture once you get it (4 of them). 425's are just not worth it without tracking skills or damage skills.
As for some quick money, Grind lvl 2 missions a bit, ask if anyone needs help in local maybe...or go mining in Dammalin (Lots of omber out there).
Once you feel comfy in a rupture, then i think your ready for a cyclone.

As some of the other posters here already mentioned, it all depends on how quickly you want to make this money, and how much (relative) risk you feel comfortable with.
The fastest way would probably be to grind as many missions as possible, making money not only on the rewards, but also on the loot you get. Rogue drone missions can net you a decent amount of materials you can refine and sell, and even the crappy loot you get from NPCs can be either sold or reprocessed.
The slowest (but safest) method is to mine. Mine like you've never mined before. You do this for a couple of weeks straight, preferably in a ship with mining bonuses (like the Osprey) and you should have a decent stash to finance your battlecruiser, fittings, insurance, and even have a little extra. You'll be bored to tears, but you can rest confortably knowing that it's just temporary, and you'll be ok before you know it.
Good luck.

IÆm in the same boat here
I would love to buy that cyclone but I keep losing what little money I have. Granted itÆs my own fault for going afk while mining in my rupture (lost 2 so far ) but hey I gotta go to the bathroom at some point.
I just hope that this next week of mining doesnÆt kill my love of this game.

make a safespot if you have to go afk for a short time. in high sec space. in low sec, log out or dock.

Edited by: Burnhard Brutor on 03/08/2006 23:00:49 Grind to earn lots of cash. Invest cash in good EGSE shares. Let others grind while you spend dividends on new ships.
Sorry but the first word of that top sentence is the pita .
Alternatively, like POTUS in Pimpology, start a corp, charge exorbitant fees for "0.0 access" way above the fees the alliance sets, set corp tax and watch the ISK roll in.

Buy a 30 day gamecard and sell it on the forums. That should pay for your BC and fittings.
