Story of a happy Goonswarm widow
ôWill this be the end?ö Gunnery Sgt. Hooligan of the Goonswarm planetary defense forces asked to his college Erik.
Sentry duty was always so mind numbing, even at war times, any subject of conversation was welcome. Even if it was the one and only subject that has been in everybodyÆs mouth recently.
ôI donÆt know, but my family seemed very happyö Erik said in a surprising twist of conversation.
ôWhat do you mean æthey seemed happyÆ?ö
ôWell.. you see... my wife placed an ad in the æseek spouseÆ section of the gallentean newspapers. She sees this as an opportunity for a fresh start.ö
ôAre you telling me that she does not expect you to come back ûalive?ö
Erik shrugged.
ôOur common credit card charges shows recent high expenses in beauty salons and expensive clothes ûlingerie section, mind you--, one can only wonder what that means.ö
ôOh my...ö
ôWell I could inform my ungrateful wife that if our line of defense fails here that our... HER complete planet will be wiped out too, by BoB.ö
ôWell that sure is a comforting thought,ö mused Hooligan giggling along.
ôBy the way... what do you think that thingy out there is?ö Erik said.

He pointed into the black void, at the direction they were supposed to guard.
ôWell sure looks like an enemy torpedo.ö Hooligan said.
ôYeah.. looks like... Ok lets go bowling.ö
ôSure mate!ö
They abandoned their gunnery stations and strolled down the gangway heading to the Bar, not letting the annoying flashing alarm sirens disturb them.
ôMy wife will be happy... even if only for a brief moment...,ö Goonswarm ErikÆs last words made both laugh out loud.

[I wrote several short stories like these for another game (Mankind), and another aggressor, my guild in that game (Mordor, just imagine role-playing and space-flying Orcs and Balrogs and you get the picture), I noticed that changing a few words and they suit themselves to EVE and the current wars as well]
