Interceptors and wormholes are the only things that force SOV ratters to somewhat pay attention to local. If anything, interceptors and interdictors could use a small ehp buff - they are so fragile. |

Nerf or buff requirement aside, what make you think they only need to watch local because of inties? Do they somewhat automatically evade other ships without watching local? |

Pretty sure they are intended to be fragile. Just sayin. Tengu Grib> I read that as "Suddenly Noobships" and it made me want to hot drop someone with noobships. SOV ratting systems are filled with dozens of bubbles around gates. The only thing that can get you through them in time is an interceptor. If you manage to catch something, if it has light drones or long range missiles, chances are you won't be able to tank it in any event. |

Have they even announced what/how they are changing them? I didn't see it. Link anyone?
@Frostys Virpio: Inties currently are one of two ships in the game that have any sort of chance catching a ratter in a belt/anom in a bubbled gate scenerio. (the math for this is in the mobile disruptors thread) |

It is actually pretty difficult to kill an interceptor gang orbiting you just with light drones, even if inties are super fragile. |

They have not - but patch is two weeks away. |

It's almost like they weren't designed to be solo brawlers or something. Weird. Tengu Grib> I read that as "Suddenly Noobships" and it made me want to hot drop someone with noobships. I expect this thread will be locked shortly, but if it isn't I'll repeat myself - the CSM summit is going on and I strongly suspect that ceptors/dictors are among the topics they'll be discussing. We'll see a devblog go up, but only after the summit has ended.
Our window of opportunity to give any meaningful feedback will be very short indeed and I strongly suspect the feedback threads will be primarily just for show. Two weeks isn't really enough time to gather feedback, sort through it and make useful changes based on it. |

Not suggesting that they should be solo brawlers. Just suggesting that they are squishy as it is. Even if you manage to catch someone in a system, which is not easy when players are paying attention, there's a high chance that you will be killed before any of your buddies are able to warp to you (even if your buddies are already in the adjacent system). |

It's a proper trade off IMO.
The ship is very effective at catching other ships. The price: Other ship has a chance of blapping it and getting the F out before it's backup arrives.
I also question how "quickly" light drones or light missiles can truly blap an Ancil fit interceptor going nearly 10 km/s.

That does not answer what I asked at all. You pretend the ratters are afk and then say you need to bubble immunity + warp speed of inties to catch something. Which one is true? |

No, I want them to be good at catching afk ratters. I have no expectation that they deal any significant type of damage to them. |

The ratters that get caught are ratters that are not paying attention to local. Any half decent alliance will report neuts or reds in a system. Your only shot at getting a ratter is to target him before he gets that intel or notices an increase in local. |

I doubt we will see any nerfing with interceptors. Seems most people would agree Inties are where they should be. At first you could argue they were overpowered, with the sheer volume of Goon Ishtars that died after the warp speed changes (for example). But you know what, they adapted, less and less they got caught, more and more we'd land and see them warping off.
That tells me inties are fine, it's AFKness that got nerfed. I do suspect dictors will be brought in line with inties more. Hopefully also bubbles will finally give them aggression. No more undock idiocy!
