While I disagree with the hostility of his post... the idea behind it is more or less accurate.
Other companys do during serious downtime, extend affected accounts by the time affected.
Thankfully my personal play time is rather screwey atm as I dont get on till midnight cst... so apparently I have missed all the crazyness WOOT!

I dont' want any refund thank you, frankly i've had lots of excitement and pleasure from this game over the years and I THANK CCP for it, THANK YOU CCP.
I think it's petty to want a refund frankly, especially when you are going to continue to use the product.

He doesnt want a refund for the game, he wants a refund for the time he lost.
I.E. Game is down 24 hours, subscriptions affected are granted an extra 24 hours. etc etc.

I agree if its only been a few hours here and there then no biggie. IMO unless its a day, or EXTREMELY bad performance, crashes etc... then its not needed... As I stated I play during the evenings... so it doesnt affect me. Im not even aware of the outage. However, I agree with an individual who is ticked over not having access to the server that he paid for and can understand his desire for an extension.
But if its a few hours yeah... let it go.

guess he used to play WOW, any tiny problem with there servers and they gave free days  , maybe the blizzard directors felt bad because how much money they were making and how crap there servers were even though they could have afforded alot better

Well, i run a number of servers for high-profile clients in the UK. Server problems happen. Software problems happen.
But I have a Service Level Agreement with my customers.
If they're paying me for a service, failure to provide it comes with penalties. For severely interrupted service, I refund according to severity, be it a week, a fortnight or a month. Maybe it'd be nice if CCP took some kind of step to assuage it's vast subscriber base that they don't expect us to suffer this recent level of performance.
I don't really care if it's a few dollars or grapefruit launchers, I'd just like a response that says 'hands up, we stuffed up, it's not meant to be like this'

Seriously man, we are playing on a game server that is (or atleast was) in one of the top500 most powerfull computers on earth (in raw processing power), they arnt scimping obn the hardware, theyre trying their hardest to fix it, and your contract with them gives them no obligation whatsoever to reimburse you for any time/money/peanuts. This is standard within any MMO, and is required to keep the business model afloat (otherwise whenever a MMO closed its doors you could file a class action for all subscription moneys.
Or perhaps in another way, dont you think its much more ammicable for 250,000 people to cop a $1 loss (not even really a lose since you never had it) or 1 company (who, dont forget makes, runs and maintains our servers) pays $250,000 every time there is a hiccough.
Its like anything in life, making plans makes the gods laugh.
