Edited by: Viqer Fell on 05/08/2006 10:23:54 OK, this is my first card game since i was a kid and had magic gathering.
Now being a kid i kept the cards safe with an elastic band and as you can imagine they got quite scruffy quite fast.
I'd like to keep my eve CCG cards in slightly better shape.
How does everyone plan on storing them and keeping them all nice and shiny. I don't really fancy buying another few lastic bands.

I keep a folder, using Ultra Pro folder card sleeves, with one of each card and all of the rares in.
And then I keep the rest in a box - Magic, L5R, and lots of other games publish their own card boxes on card that you can fold up into an oblong shape that fit cards perfectly.

I tend to buy card protectors for each individual card, then put them in deck boxes. That gets expensive though.
I've also perfected the technique of handling unprotected cards (wash your hands of any grease before play, hold the sides but never tightly, drop vertically don't slide, etc). Then people get surprised when I blow up after they spill drinks all over my cards. ----- Games Programmer | Me! |

I'd tell him to get rid of it straight away and if he wasn't happy, I'd call over an adjudicator. When the deck is worth several hundred pounds it pays to be paranoid! We were all pretty sensible at college because some of us had pretty expensive decks and anyone who used to play with us would get told to respect other people's cards. No touching, no spillage, no problem.
It's not that I'm uptight, it's just when I'm playing with Ancestral Recall (a 'power 9' card, incredibly rare, around ú500 alone) I don't need someone potentially devaluing it by a few hundred pounds because they got a little too excited near their coke can (although the card is in a zip sealed card protector). -----

I use those clear binder sheets for baseball cards and have 1 card facing each way (to a total of 18 per page) for rares and foils, maybe uncommons as well. Everything else is sorted at least by type/race and in a box designed to hold those cards (local card shops sell em for like 50 cents). For decks I usually use the Ultra Pro card protectors. Ultra pro aren't the only ones (at least last time I bought them). Ultra Pro have a colored non see through backing, I know there were cheaper ones at one point that were clear sided on both sides. The nice thing about the Ultra Pro boxes though is the protectors come 100 to a box but a 60 card deck fits very nicely into the box.

I use the rectangular ice cream boxes for storing cards.. they are just a bit more wide than the cards, so it's a perfect fit...
i also use the coloured deckprotector... so i can have multiple decks and keep them seperated

That's something I should learn to do. I keep finding cards that have got seperated from their decks and wondering just which deck they belong to. -----

Ultra Pro has 100 pack protectors in clear and black w/boxes here in the states, any other colors are 50 packs and no box.

You can buy the ultra pro collectors card albums which in the UK retail at ú3.99 each and can hold 90 cards each. With 3 of the binders you can hold a complete collection and they are smart and compact to boot.
For playing I'd recommend the transparent ultra pro deck protectors which are robust. The coloured ones just hide the eve logo on the back of the card but are rathy handy for hiding the upgradable starbases.

I just wish the packs in the starter kits came in individual boxes like the old, smaller MTG boxes (not the inch thick thingsthat they cram a bunch of extra **** into now).
not to mention, if you make deck boxes that are made to hold say, the EVE CCG standard tourny size of 52 market, 3 outers, and 1 base, give or take a few cards, it'd be very handy.

Would that be the 2nd derogatory term, coming from the same BoB member?

Every BoB pilot I've ever spoken to has done nothing but make insults and smart-ass comments. I assure you, you've done nothing to change that image. Congratulations on tarring yourself with the collective brush. -----
