Hello !
I have to tell my story to the EVE community couse Im sick of the guys that are running this game.
Let me share what have happend the last days. First I discoverer that some GM have taken 600M of my account and therefor my balance was -300M. I was in chock and angry as hell. I havent bought isk online or done anything that would give CCP the right to take 600M from me.
And if this wasnt enough. Yesterday I got attacked by 3 hostiles, 2 interceptors and 1 AF. I was in my ratting raven, fully fittet whit T2 boosters, launchers, hardeners, pdu. you name it, I had it, in alliance space. Before I continue this story I just want to say that these three hostiles did a great job by tackling me. and I have no hard feelings against them. its apart of the game. Never the less. I was tanking them real good and had the cargohold full of 800 cap charge. I cried out in alliance for support againt this threat and a gang was coming to aid me. I thought I was all good. That was until my cap booster started to try to reload. But nothing happend. Same happend whit my launchers. they were blinking like hell but nothing happend!! I started to run out of cap and my cap booster wouldnt reload even tho I had the cargo hold full of cap charges. Same goes for my siege launchers. Then I tried to hurry up the alliance gang but guees what, the alliance and corp CHAT DISAPEAR FROM VEIW. only local chat shows. My raven, whort about 500-600M goes up ina blaze of fireworks exactly 2 sec before my alliance gang warps in.
This shoudnt happend. Now you may think. dont fly a ship that you cant replace. Sure, I can replace it. I have assets whort enough isk to replace it and then some but the thing is that I cant sell it couse of that !%&!"#)%)!/ GM that took 600M from my acc. I cant transfer stuff, sell anything due to sale tax. I cant even pay the damn 850isk to setup an esw!!
This is totally UNACCEPTABLE CCP!! I have tried to find a phone number to CCP but cant find any. if anyone that reads this has it. plz send it to me or post it here

Edited by: Doctor Ooberman on 05/08/2006 14:19:00 Are you sure you aren't being plagued by unknown bugs? Maybe you are correct, but blaming CCP before you have even talked to them seems little harsh, in my humble opinion.
CCP's website says their corporate # is 354 540 9100. I assume you can get help there.
*hopes you get the situation resolved *

I've had the "reload bug" too. What you need to do in manually reload your thingies. IE right clock and load, load all doesn't work either. I petitioned this yesterday.
Other than that I agree with you, this is totally unacceptable. Smoke Me A Kipper, I'll Be Back For Breakfast! |

I everyone should be concerned with this - the number of problems rising in the last few months seems to be getting worse. I had identical situation - albeit in a mission - where everything shows its reloading - flashing icons etc - but nowt happens... rats close in gleefully whilst all you can do is say wtf??
I wouldn't say its a bug, in the sense that its a bit of code with an error in it, but more of a serious issue concerning the main servers or whatever as these bugs seems to affect some peeps but not others at the same time. I would like to see CCP saying something or answering their fee paying public's questions, in a public forum maybe. After all T Blair gets in TV now and then to face the public (although a cynic would say they're hand picked!)
But the message has to be we're getting annoyed and rather angry about our beloved game...

I challenge you guys to find the glitch inside a multi-computer server program/database structure within a day.
I've had bugs tying me up for an hour on programs that were barely ten pages long. Now take that scale to the level of EVE - or any other online game for that matter.

No, because that doesn't work the same way. It's far easier to see a broken piece in an engine - hell, nowadays you plug a computer into the car and the computer tells you where the problem is.
Computer program by itself, completely different situation. All it takes is a small typo to screw up the whole thing. Without being aware of it, something can, say, point to the wrong variable, and although the program starts up and works... it can give you headaches for a while as you try to search what's making the program go FUBAR.
A programmer's compiling/debugging program only works for spotting crucial mistakes that prevent the program from starting up in the first place. For everything else, it can't think for you - it can't distinguish right from wrong. So if you want to put a value in X and by mistake you hit Y, and keep on coding... well, at the end, the only way to find the error is to watch the program run step by step and try to see if anything looks suspicious. That can take a very, very long time, and I'm sure the CCP guys are just as frustrated as you are.

Good to see that this thread is alive. I have read all the replies and some ppl say that I shoud manually reload all modules. This may be true but in my opinion; I shoudnt be bothered to do this. Eitherway, I think I shoud be reimburshed whit all my stuff. And Im gonna phone CCP tomorow and tell them about this situation and what they are gonna do about this..
PS. Thx Doctor Ooberman for their phone nr

Untara, don't call yet. Need to read down the Contact page a bit more under EVE Online Customer Support where it starts out with:
Customer Support for EVE Online is provided via E-mail 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We do not provide phone support for EVE Online.
As for the ISK being taken, have you tried talking to a GM about it? Filed a petition for it?
The Contact page does have email and web pages to contact them if you need them.

Ummm ya.. anyways, before sell something, you make sure it works, and before you release a potentially buggy update, you test it to make it works. CCP take their time to do these things. There is no excuse for them letting things like this happen.

i agree with UNTARA they take in a blink of an eye but when we want something back ah we have to wait. Nah fuk you ccp and get a fking grip. you file the petitiion against us and then when we log you have the chance to spk to us about n e discrepence's with our isk or items whatever.
I think if a GM waited for us to log then tlks to us regardless if we dnt log for 1 day or 100 days. he has notes on why he want to spk with us and so this i feel would be a good system.
Some ppl have purchased chars from the forums and who is to say that the person before you didnt buy like 10 bil isk from websites over 3 years and gets rumbled and now you have a nice debt of 10 bil. Well i for one think we shud have the chance to defend our selves before ccp takes action.
N e 1 else in an agreance with me on this?

Firstly, you are just another one of a sickening increase in crass, stupid, presumptory comments that simply go to show that you have absolutely no ********* whatsoever and get your jollies by gobbing off out of the side of your mouth in a forum where you will get no personal come-back. Another I'm so hard from behind a keyboard plank. *Yawwwwwn*
Secondly, you are - as gobshytes like you usually are - incorrect. It often has sod all to do with a manual reload jerky-boy. I had a similar encounter to the Op and the manual reload didn't work at all. I was fortunate enough to be able to get away from the situation that the OP was unfortunately not.
Thirdly, and this is the bit you really should not only read, but print out and frame above the mirror in your bathroom. That way, when you read it you'll realise that you're nothing but a backward t1t with nothing to say and no-one to say it to.
When you visit a thread and you have nothing to add? STFU.
There, plain and simple enough for you, or you wanna' meet up somewhere in .0 and I'll explain it properly for you?
Jerk.

Now that, I doubt. Firstly, it is THEIR DAMN JOB to ensure that these things don't happen - and puh-lease, don't bore me to tears with IT speak. In fact, they actually get paid for it. The poor OP is paying them to play.
And I'm sorry, if you knew as much about the modern day amalgam of the combustion engine and plug-in diagnostic PC's then you would soon realise that your analogy is as flawed in concept as it is in presumption.
Although I understand where you're coming from, I refuse to navigate where you are going.

Not to hard once you're in close range. Interceptors are almost impossible to hit with medium guns. If you loaded up for Large, no chance of hitting them under 20-25km. Plus Assualt Frigs are pretty tasty tanks. Add tech 2 weapons and a couple of years experience into the mix and those T2 ships can be damned lethal.
HACs will take down a BS by the time its locked and fired.

UPDATE: mail sent.
I appreicate the interest from everyone but plz stop flamming this thread and keep your statements to the topic of the discussion.
Here is some of the things I included in the mail:
"This shoudnt be able to happen. I pay real cash almost every month to be able to play this great game. For what? so that my modules dont work properly, so that a GM can steal my isk whitout even an explnation!? I have seen pictures of your office buildings in different parts of the world and they look very expensive. I would suggest that you used our money, the subscribers to hire more programers or whatever you need to sort this problem out instead of high rent costs!
Whit that said, I hope that you will do what is right and compensate all my losses that your game mechaninc and GM have put me true.
My characther name is Untara. I will forward the killmail about this incident so that you can investigate this mather more properly."
It will be interesting to see if they answer my mail quicker then they would answer a question on how to start subscribing on their game.

ok for those that say that cpp should hire more programs more does not = better also bugs in a simple program ie notepad are hard to find somtimes, bugs that are code based and provent it from starting ie you put the brake pads in backward for a fisical example (i know its hard to do that but still) but logic errors are ni on impossible to spot sometimes expshaly if its a bit of code that is very infrequently used and also works in most cases, also your non gm made problem was more likly lag made than anything else, also if you think programing is easy try it for your self get a program made on your own with 1000 lines of code (not wigh space but functional code that YOU have writen not pregenrated stuff) then scale that up to eve thats probaly 100000 or more lines for just the cliant then probaly as meny for the server if not more even without the 3rd party bits of server softwere, then factor in that with meny programers the logistics gets much harder yes there is softwere that helps with it but it doesnt fix all the things that can go wrong just by pepole not understaning the current logic being used.
the only problem that cpp can fix easly and quickly here is the fact that a gm took mony for acording to you no reson, (witch is harsh). the code problems they know about they know there are isuse with lag still so stop pestering them.
last point if you have a problem that needs fixing pertion it that is what its for if you need to talk to a "superior" and you dont get a responce from a normal mail email cpps suport depatrmet directly dont think about calling them lol they dont do help by phone crew idea skill calulator in game |

If the EVE is running fine, and then all of a sudden it isn't, there aren't a whole lot of possible explanations..
Either some kind of power loss/hardware failure Or something was changed in TQ without being tested on Singularity.
I have a hunch that it isn't always the former..

I have run into this 'bug' a few times. What seems to stand out is when your wepons fire the last round (but they dont turn off yet because the game has not detected no more rounds [only happens after it trys to shoot again and anounces its out of charges]) and you hit Ctrl+R (reload all) you will get the reload bug... they will keep flashing, but won't reload... all you have to do is do it manualy by dragging the ammo/charges from your bay onto the weapon/module.
Untill CCP figures a way around this bug, we will all have to do with it.
This topic is very old BTW..... "It is said that there is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe-that nothing remains in its original state, that each day, each hour, each moment, there is change."
