Unfortunately TQ has just had a hiccup, please bear with us while we whip the hamsters a bit to get the power cranked back up

In the words of our beloved GM Xhagen.
"The servers are going down for our daily unscheduled downtime"...

Originally by: Hank Shank I'm on a trial account and close to upgrading to a permanent paid account. But these interruptions are causing me concern. Is this normal for TQ?
Just lately we've few weeks we seem to get a day or two of instability, then its okay for a month or two, then we get another day or two.
Its a fairly recent thing and I know CCP have made it a lot better than it was before.
There's also a lot of improvements coming up in Kali which should make the server a lot more stable.
So overall my answer to your question is - the game is well worth subscribing to and although someone will give a cheeky reply to my post here, the unplanned downtime really isn't as frequent as it seems!

Originally by: Brad Stone So, WHO's been copying bookmarks again, and borked the database? Hmmmm? Come on, own up! Nobody gets to play tll we find the culprit...
The rest of the GM team kept throwing jokes at me last time this happened as I was copying bookmarks at the time...
I hope they find solutions to replace bookmarks soon as they really aren't doing the poor server hamsters any favours.
Originally by: Cosmo Raata Hmmmmm, Chinese server need more bandwidth??
Completely seperate set of hardware on the other side of the world. Serenity has absolutely nothing to do with bandwidth for Tranquility and vice versa.

No its just a silly subject given Serenity is physically all the way over in China using its own connectivity and aside from using similar software is completely separate and distinct from Tranquility ...

The general symptoms of slow database access are wallet not working, cans can't be looted, can't jump systems, and then tranquility falls over, like it did today.
What usually causes this exact kind of slow database access and fall over in my experience is some kind of deadlock which maxes the database CPU to 100% or a full table (such as the item ID table).
I know these two problems are something the server devs are looking at very closely.
Since no official information has been released yet, I can't be sure either of these assumptions is the situation today, however it seems possible.
Until announced that Tranquility is stable I recommend you do not login or attempt to undock.

BUT are they having the same kind of prolems?? Lag and data base overloads?? Ramdom crashes? Or are you not allowed to say?
You'd have to ask them! We have no direct relationship with the forum mods or devs over in china. I have no idea what goes on there.
They are using slightly updated server code, code which I believe the devblogs are saying we're going to get in Kali. So ... I guess we'll see if it helps
