Ive got quite fond of my domi and its looks, sure its not going to win the Miss EVE pageant but at least its not a raven  .
I find the overall shell is poor, but all the little details are quite nice.

Its not a silver spot.
It is or appears to be 2 pieces of overlapping material that interrupt the line and color of the ship.
Driver side.
Zoom in close. The light even reflects off it differantly.

So... it's a Caldari state requirement that ships have to look ugly and clunky in addition to being militarily sound? Caldari thrive off "maintaining the best technology possible over their enemies"... does that mean they have to be ugly, too?

Recognized for greatness. I love the gaping maw idea. Its teh pwn. Wings or sail-like structures are reserved for the matari though. Still, a good B :)

your design looks like a train without an arse and the brutix looks like a condom stuffed with walnuts. next to the bellicose its the ugliest ship in EVE. so to combine it with the domi is horrendous

I like especially the mkII design presented. But couldn't that be the T2 Gallente BS ? A t2 dom is currently my (not-so-secret) wet dream. 
The description of the dom says it's an old hog, and it should stay that way imho. And what's the whining about caldari? The scorp is the way coolest bs in eve. And the raven isn't as bad either. The charon is the coolest looking ship hands down. Yeah, I know it's a brick. But it's a cool brick!

It would be nice to see some representation of the drones bay, but my biggest beef is the skin, oh well hopefully horrid brown will be gone with the graphics updates.

I like it, really, but imho it doesn't fit to the dominix' role as an ancient warhorse - it's simply too modern.
But i like your former concepts, especially the overhaul (not the mk2) - that's the way it should be done, imho. Make those "vents" into different drone launchers and it would be fine.
On the other hand it would be sufficient to me to bring some bay to the existing model, like the Megathron has now. Make it the refered gaping maw like a wale munching what comes across
Perhaps some little antennas like the t2 drone carrier boats, but NO WINGS please 
However, Dominix should stay a bulky ram, imho.

I like the Domi personally, but the problem is, it doesn't fit into the gallentean look; a couple of minor changes would go a long way towards both making it fit in and giving it a bit of a facelift.
For one, the model is too wide, and not high enough. A lot of the "older" gallentean ships (Maulus, Vexor, Celestis, etc) are higher than they are wide, and it is obvious that the Domi is supposed to be the Vexor's bigger brother; I propose simply stretching the model a bit, making it a bit thinner, and a bit higher.
Second, the colour scheme is all wrong. It is the only Gallente ship which has a tan/grey with a bit of green colour scheme; It should get a reskin to match the Vexor, a grey/gold one, or one to match the Celestis, a green/black metallic one.
Those two changes would mean it would keep the Domi look we've all either come to love or hate, while still giving it a bit of a facelift and making it fit into the rest of the Gallentean fleet

Indeed Caldari don't have much to show. Kestrel and Ferox look decent, as do the new tier 2 BC and tier 3 BS at least judging by concept art. Cormorant's ok as well. Then there's Merlin, which is certainly one of the best-looking frigs in the game. But that's about it really. Though personally I don't find all that many nice-looking ships in any of the races' repertoire. Basically for me:
- Gallente: Tristan, Vexor and Dominix are decent, Incursus and Brutix are ok, Thorax would be awesome without the extra "testicle", but nice-ish as is, Megathron's nice as is the Catalyst, Thanatos and Nyx are awesome.
- Minmatar: Rifter (and even more so the Wolf!), Slasher and Cyclone look great, Typhoon is decent in a tube-ish kind of way. Upcoming BC and BS seem nice enough.
- Amarr: Curse and Heretic are very nice (it's all in the color, baby!), Punisher and Executioner are good-looking too. Prophecy is decent, and although I originally didn't like Apoc, I guess there's some majestic quality about it that can't be denied Abaddon also looks nice. The Avatar wtfpwns.
Might've missed a ship or two, but not so many total. Which makes me want to train all races all the more to get a larger selection of good-looking ships. What a pain

Hmm, an old spaceship can still look modern IMO. Most Amarr designs for example are supposed to be thousands of years old...

first of all.. you all got it wrong..
the dominix looks like a bubblefish that accidentially swallowed grandpas third teeth...
oh and while im at it...
the incursus always goes \o.
the rifter looks like a megathron that has not been finished.
while the megathron looks like a lowrider rifter.
moa looks like a roadrunner with a rocket up his bum.
speaking of bums, the raven got a sewer drain pipe sticking out of his.
the machariel looks like two rusty boobies, that are about to enter hyperspace.
ferox is the cybernetic christmas tree, if viewed from above.
oh and another disturbing image, from the modules section:
the tractor beam icon looks like a toilet seat that gets blown up this exact moment.
and to the OP:
yeah, please, make the domi look nice, some day, but please, take that high heel outta its mouth ;)

Besides, did you know that flattened triangular ships were used in the RPG Traveller way before Star Destroyers were a glint in Lucas' eye?

it's nice, maybe it loses a little bit of the Gallente feel, perhaps put some more engines on the back? Kinda like the Megathron y'know? a row/cluster of engines. It would be a departure of current dominix though.
Can you make one for Typhoon too? So it looks less like a thrashcan?
