Yes, perhaps you didn't think it was possible, that you were stuck looking at stars and clicking whatever you could find in your interface while waiting for that hauler to get there, or while camping the gate waiting for it to fire...
No more watching the clock, play Connect4 directly in your IGB instead, and no it doesn't not cost to play.
And you might think you play against yourself... no no! You play against your mates and enemies. (Everyone knows computers are selfish and never lets you win!)
So point your IGB to http://eve.syranide.com/ and play it right now. (DO NOT USE THE REFRESH-BUTTON!)
For those that are looking for a bit of chat, you can join the channel "evearcade" in-game.
With this initiative we hope that people will have something to pass the time with when their presence is necessary but no interaction required (hauling through lowsec), and perhaps even let CCP see the light of how small games like this can really enrichen the game if properly implemented within EVE.
Now have fun playing and evemail/convo me with feedback, questions or whatever comes to mind!
Here is a printscreen from within EVE at the game. (Note that the game itself has been heavily thought through and designed, the lobby screen and such have not been because of the simple reason; I did not find it crucial to the game itself, but this will change if the game get the attention I hope and more features will be added, or even more games perhaps)
The game in its current state has bugs that I am aware of, but nothing that should affect the game play itself. (And no, the resign button is not useable, it has been disabled for now). If you come across any bug that severly affects gameplay please contact me immediately and I will do my best to have it fixed shortly, however all feedback is of course welcome!
A feature that might not be obvious is the fact that you can RIGHT-CLICK either avatar and be able to start chats right from there, or find information about the other player.
Note that this game resides on my own server, which is no monster with the CPU of a Carrier (nor is the game optimized in anyway), with that said, it is possible that the game might be a little slow if there are many concurrent players, if this would happen I will look into alternate means of hosting and I already believe I have one for use in that case.
Aureus Nox deserves credit too for putting up with my endless nagging of testing, joining and playing... testing, joining and playing and what not

Before people start asking questions as to lag, reloading etc... this game has been done with the very thought in mind that it should lag as little as possible and as such some things needs to be omitted, but mainly, the IGB isn't exactly state of the art and as such features needs to be simulated using other mechanisms. As such you need to click to send your message, however not necessary, it is necessary for the fact that the update rate must be slowed down while typing (or you'll never have a chance at hitting enter before the page is updated), I recommend the EVE-game chat over the Connect4-chat but it was included as I'm certain that people wouldn't start chats with everyone all the time.
Why did I choose Connect4? It was chosen because of it's simple rules and game play, everyone can learn how to play it in 5 minutes, but it can also be mastered. And it's characteristics fit the requirements for being playable within the IGB, and it is an easy game to play, you don't have to calculate every move to have fun playing it.
And please give us working image maps in the IGB, it would considerably allow for minimizing IGB lag when loading pages!

Yeah sadly it is a little slow, as it must update, and everytime it updates it freezes (cannot click the IGB) and causes a little lag, so this was a good interval that I found, and really, I think it will be better when you are using it as it is meant, that is when you have other things to tend to at the same time, check the overview, check local etc, then time flies a lot faster ;)

Who knows, might just be, I was working on chess at first, but the limitations of the IGB made it a little troublesome as so many clickable areas caused considerable lag, still something you could live with, but ultimately this felt much more simple and fun (you might not want to start playing chess for an hour or more when you might just be travelling for 30min)

At one point I was able to play myself, which was odd. Once I left, the game no longer showed up as available.
I blame lag.

Depending on how things turn out and so on and so forth, there might be more features and more games (and less bugs). But I still want to have time to play EVE , but my hopes are that there will be more games such as this, but the two limitations at the moment is the IGB, and time. (And one of them is chess, but as earlier described, chess and IGB don't go very good together as of too many clickable areas start causing lag when loading the page).
(Yeah I know about the "play-against-yourself-bug" if you create and leave a game, but I don't find it very serious )
