I get mixed information about this... and before i spend my hard earned money I wanted to clarify a question......
1:) Can you goto a store put 50$ on a pre-paid visa, mastercard, whatever else and use it to purchase PLEX?
I live in the US and they are readily avail.
2:) If you CAN, is there a preferred card that works as in (visa, mastercard) over others?
3:) I dont use steam, I just use the launcher.... does this have any effect on this..... Also do not use paypal.....do i have too?
If someone could just clear this up for me i may make myself space rich buy ships i cannot afford to lose and welp them into YOU...

AFAIK sure. Its just a credit card.
You can use amazon gift cards and buy plex on amazon then sell them in game. So... I really don't know what your on about or why it would be any different. The system thinks you are using a credit card...
Or am I missing something here?

You would think so Dareaper but I remmeber i had a credit card from MY BANK.... and it wouldnt allow it to be used to purchase gametime because of international reasons.... Im wondering if the prepaid will fault to the same speculation..... CCP Falcon... maybe wrong thread for this but could you give me a good ole' clear explanation for this.... i just want to load money onto prepaid visa card and buy 50 plex from you.... yes or no?

So you have to buy GTC and convert them into PLEX from amazon???? Why can this not be a little bit more straight forward ccp? Money is in the best interest of you although you seem to make it quite difficult to purchase PLEX and sell them ingame unless you have a bank account you want to use

well when you go to "buy PLEX" in your account management, there's an option to pay with PSC.
I only use PSC just for subing, but it works there no probs... |

you don't have too, but you can usually find a deal where amazon has the plex for cheaper then ccp

NEVER buy vanilla visa cards, they never work and there support is 100% worthless ****. Vanilla Mastercards however, are OK.
I am Canadian BTW, no clue about the state of the USA ones. |

So long as the prepaid credit card company allows you to go online and register the card to your postal code (or US equivalent) then this allows you to purchase stuff online. I have always subbed my account and I've been playing longer than I've had my own credit card. Pretty sure I would use a prepaid but can't remember. If a prepaid can be used to sub then it should be usable to make purchases.

Confirming prepaid credit cards work fine for plex purchase, they also work for subscriptions but when sub comes due it will fail (obviously) if there is not funds on it. So you will need to add a new one.
Edit: as another canadian, I agree with the opinion on Vanilla cards - they are garbage |

Like your bank card, it will depend on the issuer of the prepaid card I assume. I doubt CCP keeps up with which card issuers allows certain international transactions and they certainly haven't weighed in on the numerous requests to do so, other than to say "good luck with that". Can you not just use Amazon with your existing card? I had the same experience with my bank issued Mastercard, got the same response from them :reasons:, and went to Amazon and purchased my game time with no issues. I've been doing it that way ever since.

With prepaid debit cards you can run into trouble with authorization holds. You go to buy something for $10 online, have $11 balance, the merchant checks the card with a $10 auth, and then the purchase fails because of lack of funds for the real charge because it looks like there is only $1 left to your bank temporarily. |

You just need to check the terms on the card and make sure that it allows for overseas charges. I have previously paid my sub and bought PLEX with a prepaid AMEX card that I charged using Green Dot with no issue whatsoever.

You can buy plex at any authorized dealer with a pre paid visa card, I did it several times without problems, just make sure you stored enough money on it before you attempt the purchase (check your balance first) it should work without a problem.
Bought from shattered crystal and markee dragon and others in the past, never had any problem, same goes for 99% of all other games, so far only ran into 1 game which made trouble, other than that its handled like a normal credit card, you just have to make sure its loaded. |

you can use some pre-paid cash cards to pay for plex or your sub - that is how I pay for stuff here.... however, most pre-paid cards do not work internationally, you have to make sure that the one you buy will... for example the regular walgreens pre paid card does not work internationally, but their balance financial premium master card does. |

1:) Certain pre-paid cards work as long a registration is done online
2:) Prepaid CC allows international transactions.
3:) The available balance is that or more then what you purchased ( Obvious)

As stated, it depends on the card type, because of this little number: "Due to changes in applicable law, gift cards purchased after March 31, 2012 may not be used for international transactions or purchases. Please use gift cards for domestic U.S. transactions or purchases only." If the Visa/Master/AmEx/etc. is a Prepaid Gift Card, CCP can not take your money directly because they're in Iceland.
Even PayPal can not help you if the vendor is not in the USA; they check and see the domestic restriction on these things.
Fortunately, Amazon.com sells PLEX directly as well as subscription game time, and is based in the United States. You just need to link your Amazon account to your EVE Online account and then make the purchase once the site shows the linking was successful. Wait a bit, and enjoy your PLEX/gametime.
Other resellers may also be Americans and therefore compatible with the restricted prepaid gift cards as well, but I haven't checked them individually. I didn't need to, what with Amazon working just fine.
You don't need Steam version of EVE to use the resellers(including Amazon), but if you did use Steam, it'd be probably easier to just buy PLEX/sub through Steam as that is an option for Steam EVE.

CCP sells codes to 3rd party resellers.
If you buy a PLEX from CCP expect up to 1 hour or longer wait for your PLEX.
if you buy a PLEX from Amazon you will get the code instantly and have to spend 10 seconds of your life copying and pasting a code in to the "redeem ETC" field.

Do you have things like Paysafe Card , UK cash Card in the US ? you can buy them at any Tobak store Kiosk or Gas Station , yea you only can use one card at a time because stupid money washing laws but its a great credit card alternative specialy when you are not old enough for credit cards or when you fear that your inner pigdog is to strong and you go on a plex shopping spree xD

Most banks put a hold on international purchases. Just dial the number on the back of the card and tell them to remove it and it will work.

Cdn here and I get stuck with a lot of small balance remaining issues but they have never been rejected. That's more of an OCD thing though.
$50 card, 3 EVE payments and you will have a $3 remaining. It adds up over time but again, they work.
(iTunes get as much of my remainders as I can pinch out - I can rent a movie for as little as .99 so I can bleed them to to the max) |

Thats a limitation your bank is putting on your card for anti theft reasons. All you need to do is call your bank and tell them to allow oversees transactions for a set period of time and buy your plex then

I have been using prepaid Visa Electron for years without any issues. If I can do it from Serbia, which does not have full PayPal service (we are not allowed to receive money, just spend it through PayPal  ), I'm fairly certain that you can do it from the US

I've always been able to buy PLEX using Vanilla Visa/Mastercard. You can't, however, use them to sign up for game-time (AFAIK) due to restrictions on the cards regarding recurring charges.
