I asked the same question a couple of weeks back and got a torrent of really old games suggested by players.
Newer ones I have found enjoyable have been:
Hitman - Blood Money
Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Tomb Raider Legend
apart from that there's not a lot out, unless you get an Xbox 360, which I am tempted to do

The problem is the gaming industry as a whole. Anytime a major corporation creates or publishes a title it gets dumbed down to appeal to the majority of people because, as we all know, the whole idea behind making games is to make money, not to be creative or revolutionary.
That's why corps like Sony, Blizzard, Turbine etc release titles that are all essentially the same i.e kill **** and get xp. I dont know of many (or any) titles other than EVE that don't follow this formula on one level or another, (although EVE has its problems).
Just give the industry some time to get those new adult games on the market--THAT will be different. Kinda gives the concept of "grinding" a whole new meaning

I found outa few days ago you can Downlaod GTA2 for free, tis still fun fun fun !

I agree that there's backstory all the time but it doesn't affect the bulk of the player community (afaik we've got >100k players and only 10-15k in alliances?)
I'd guess about 1/3 of EVE is in an alliance, maybe a bit more.
If anything its a majority of corporations that are involved in alliances, alliance politics, or deal with alliances, not vice versa.

Quite right. 55-60k and almost 1500 corps involved in alliances.
