I played beta but I thought it was awful... Ninja mining bistot in a frig in a .4 was just meh :/
I came back after someone brought it up sometime in 2004, much improved :)

I kind of regret that I didnt start playing on releas day. Had been reading about Eve for months, but couldnt afford it when it was released ;(.
Fired up a real account a few weeks after release, been playing off and on since then (with a total of 3 diff. chars).

I played since launch day however I quit 1 month after and re-subscribed only a week ago.
I played so many other MMOs during the 3 years of absence from EVE and came to the conclusion that none match EVE's PvP, Economic and Political dynamics.

Seem a lot don't remember. Maybe because they did not have time to train the skills. The last week or so of beta we were givin several billion iskies, the skills for titans as well as the ships were on market. I was able to skill up about the last 2 days of it and had a blast in the minmatar titan with large guns on it, lol. Least that's my recolection of it.

I'm still here, never gonna' get rid of me.
I've beta tested MANY games over the years but I didn't want to beta test EVE, i could feel that it was something special so I wanted the full, unadulterated feeling of logging on day 1 with the rest of the day 1 noobs.

Beta 6 and onward, though I had a one year break last year, it was hard to keep playing during that year (RL issues).
Now I am sticking around 'til the bitter end!

I started on day one of retail 
I've taken two subscription breaks when I've found my enthusiasm waning rather than carry on and risk killing the game for good for me.
Seems to work, both times within a month or two I was pining so hard for Eve I've come back more enthusiastic than ever.
/me is not planning to take any more breaks

I played late beta and then joined a few weeks after launch once it looked stable.. I miss the feelinmg of being totally alone in space, where no one can hear you crash!

I followed EVE all the way through beta and up to the launch, was going to sub, but had no RL isk :(
Looking back I wish I'd subbed at launch and not just forgotten about it, maybe I'd be a titan pilot about now. :D

beta 5 and day one retail had to change my name though 6 months into retail as some tard decided my orig name pronholio was offensive which is lame as theres plenty names out there a lot worse
same corp since day1 retail also

I've been here since retail. ALthough, not on my original character as i started again with Logi3 after transfering my original character.
Still enjoying the game, although i havnt done any 24 hour stints in well over a year ;)
Been pirating now for 2 years + and i still suck compared to most hehe ;)

Not playing since beta exactly,
but I was in beta, play after release (though it took some time to reach my local store), but quiet after Castor (I hated the market changes that broke being a trader for me)
But I have returned .
Found my old char, jumped into my First BS andblasting away again.
