tomahawk, seriously, you dont have to be rude...be nice...geez.. you can still fight and be nice at the same time
and about those kills.... you forgot to mention that alot of your losses are tech2
EDIT: we are loving the tech 2 loots
actually 95% of all fleets are tech 1 ships. With tech 1 gear, as always with Intaki Union.
you got two recent tech 2 kills that were pretty nice. the day before though Brazzle gave us two megathrons, one he actually abandoned and was picked up... and the isk ratio is waaaaaaaay in our favor.
I'm not saying you guys don't pop a ship or two, but don't pretend we are this elite force of HACs and tech 2 kitted Battleships. yesterday i fried your people in an arbitrator with all tech 1 kit, even tech 1 drones.
you guys are the ones losing hacs Ishtar 2 days ago was it?
you are right though i will try to be nicer.
Edit: oh and one more point, "a lot" of our losses are in fact tech 1 cruisers and tech 1 frigates. we have lost maybe 3 tech 2 ships and have taken down way more tech 2 ships from your side.
I stress this because i don't want this inflated sense of "uber" fleet flying to be a reputation for IU as it would be undeserved. IU doesn't do the typical elite fleet thing that smaller combat forces tend to do, we fly cheep ships and have fun with it.

The vast majoity of the time that I have flown against the Cyrene Initiative I have been impressed by a professional demeanour. None of the petty bickering or so called 'smack talk' and they conducted themselves with honour. I am not going to quote figures at you or attempt to slander the Cyrene Initiative in any way.
I will however say I applaud the remaining fighters resolve and personaly hope that they continue to fight, each engagement with them has helped them learn. Each loss has made them wiser. Each day they are a more worthy foe.
For this I salute them.
My views and opinions are my own, Cyrene Initiative will be my foe until my commanders inform me otherwise but the growing respect is there.
Sanctus out
<edit> I will point out that we originaly had no greivence with Cyrene Initiative until they attempted to shelter a war target. As they posted in these very forums in a thread about Red Eclipse getting war dec'd and still accepted them into an alliance, it is my opinion that Cyrene Initiative should maybe have informed all its members of the possiblity of war? Some of Cyrene Initiative's blood is on my hands but an awful lot is on the hands of the Cyrene Initiative's leaders.

again not true, most of the mods are tech 1 as well.
sometime some of us throw on a tech 2 mod here and there. but 90% of all mods are not tech 2. even most of the drones are tech 1.
and no, IU never lots an ishtar. we haven't even fielded a hac against your side yet.
oh well, i guess it is all perception. I just don't want a false impression we haven't earned. we do well enough having fun and fitting tech 1 kit.

Oh it is very true that I have some of my alliance mates blood on my hands but not so much as to concern me. You see I am the current executor of Cyrene and as such nearly any decision I make, short of surrender, will leave me with blood on my hands. At the end of the day I simply must accept this and hope that my alliance mates will still accept me.
In this case it was my decision to take in Red Eclipse but I still got support from the majority of Cyrene's (semi founded) council with the rest abstaining. It would have been a fully democratic process had it not been for the fact that The Cyrene Initiative had only integrated these new corporations about five days before the war started. A good majority of the confusion came from large numbers of our pilots simply not paying attention to alliance postings and war notices.
As for the corporations that have left us; I cannot really blame them. They signed up to an alliance and suddenly found themselves in a war with the vast majority of their allies being fresh faced young recruits. This would certainly make many corporations think of just cutting loose from their alliance mates and running free. It is for this reason that I have immense pride in the corporations of Cyrene that have stuck by their friends during this most annoying war.
As for the traitor coporations who were supposedly going to turn against us I cannot blame them either. I have heard the threats that were used agaist them and the sums of ISK that our enemies attempted to extort from them and I find myself unable to blame them for saying they would turn against us simply to find a way out of this nonsensical war.
This war may once again strip Cyrene of a number of it's member corporations, much like our war with Aegis Militia and many of these same pilots did, but much like the last time we will not allow our spirits to be crushed and we will rebuild. The members that do remain this time will have proven their loyalty and thus Cyrene shall be that much stronger.

Edited by: Shylan on 10/08/2006 22:58:36 Well this is some information that has come to my attention today from a source close to Relinquished. The main reason behind why a number of the Cyrene Inititive's corporations left the alliance is because after the heavy loss your alliance sustained on the 1st day of the war your corporation "Ixion Defence Systems" relocated a high number of systems away leaving the rest of your alliance to fend for itself in the war zone, if this information is true you have no right to call yourself an executor of your alliance.

No, acctually we relocated a number of jumps from our main base to what was the HQ our one of our most vulnerable mining corporations. Many members ignored this call and decided they better off on their own, such was their decision.
Since the start of this war it has been apparent a number of our miners have decided to sit this one out and stay confined to stations. A decision that has made the move pointless but I cannot find fault with.
Please feel free to continue to try drag me through the mud but please be advised you may dirty yourself in the process.

Do not deviate from the RP that this thread is about. What I mainly see in the responses can be left OOC.
The War looms heavy, the casualties continue but War never gives me good news. Men and women die upon each side and material is wasted. Politics and individual agenda's are always the protagonists of conflict but it is the young who die in their stead. The few use what influence they have to terrorize the many. This tryranny I cannot bear, the oppressed must be defended and the righteous must endure. Democracy is not free, sacrifices are always made to ensure its preservation. Ever vigilance must be taken hence it be lost!
This is what Ixion is committed to, this is what the Cyrene Initiative defends. This is what the Federation has been created to do. If each man in my alliance must sacrifice themeselves in the fires of freedoms defense, then it is a sacrifice we all freely make.
I know what I am defending and I know the price I must pay and in this I shall give my all. It is the responsibility of the few whom are given the strength and courage by their maker to defend the many from opression and tyranny.

The reasons behind this war: My sources inside the fed intelligence lead me to believe this war is nothing more than the Caldari State probing for weaknesses inside the fedaration. With growing tensions between the fedaration and caldari state escallating, the caldari have taken to enlisting non-aligned corporations to do their intelligence work for them, and what better than disgruntled Intakis, Mordus, and Amarrians. War between the fedaration and Caldar is on the horizon, sides are being chosen. Whose side are you on?

Technically it's libel.
Slander = spoken Libel = written
It is disappointing that so much vitriole is being poured into this forum. The CYI were indeed on record at the start of the war declaring they would protect the federation's interests, a statement that was accepted on face value.
Despite some calling this war unjustified, I have seen no evidence of the critics' convictions either by demonstrating *why* they feel the war is unjustified or by coming to the aid of CYI.
This war is not about ships lost, loot gained, pod pilots destroyed. This war is about ideology, freedom and individuals doing what they believe to be right.
That being said, at least some pride may be taken (from our side) in successfully standing firm in the face of an alliance which would harbour our enemies.
And the message we are sending is simply this - you are not safe through strength of numbers. You are not safe by virtue of having larger ships. If you stand with our enemies, you shall fall by them.
Honour to those who have fought bravely, if misguidedly.

Numbers can be very misleading. Though we initially outnumbered our opponents in members, the mobilization of vessels being placed in the field and experience was grossly in our enemies favor. But we persisted and continued to resist. Now the War has bled into our enemies doorsteps. Now as it was before, we whom remain are strengthened thru the lessons of battle. As the days wear on the losses have been greatly reduced and the enemies slowly increasing. The success that your forces had when the War was new are long gone.
As the war drags your fighters seem to be losing their zeal. The easy victories are gone. Now it seems they are agitated, nevervous and ready to run when they engage us in skirmishes. Now it is our opponents whom bleed most.
Federation Victorious!

As for this war being justified, I see CONCORD invalidated Relinquished's war? I don't know what that's about, but it weakens your case.

Relinquished has discontinued the CONCORD sanctioned war against the Cyrene Inititive for a number of reasons. We feel we have accomplished what we set out to do at the beginning and carrying on the war is no longer in our best interests. We have other matters in which Relinquished must turn its attention too. We would like to wish Mordu's Elite and Intaki Union the best of luck as they continue the fight against the Federation.

When corporations started to leave Cyrene, we started demanding surrender fee's. However, it has now come to my attention that this is not warranted and unjust. There are a few factors which have caused me to make this post after speaking with the CEO's of the desserting corporations. Therefore I would like to apologise to the corps that left and felt intimidated. Mordu will take no further action against you and wish you all the best in establishing yourselves and building strong corporations.
My reasons?
Well, a similar story from the 5 leaving corporations leads me to believe that they were mislead when they were asked to join the alliance. They never truly knew what they were getting in to. Now weather this is a communications problem with the hierachy or they were deliberately mislead remains to be seen. Some quotes from the return mails and conversations I have had with the members.
"We are much inexperienced with such things and were forced into that war without truly knowing what was facing that pathetic alliance. "
"my corp doesnt role play and even if we did we sure hell wouldnt side with gallente lol"
"We are not a role playing corp. I am not aware of any federation. We joined the alliance to defend Ravarin against the pirates that threaten it. This war was brought to us, and after reviewing how the Cyrene operates we felt that it was in our best interest to leave and not associate ourselves with them any further."
" Also, we were told once we joined the alliance a few days ago that wars would be voted on, and I did not get a vote in that decision"
"Ixion jumped 20 jumps away to avoid the war, they called it strategic relocation"
Lastly, after checking the ages of these corps that have left, many of their members are new pod pilots. We do not like to fight dishonourably, its not our way.
So you ask, why did we shoot these very members when they were in the alliance? We were none the wiser.
Thats the evidence. This is NOT a flame attack on Cyrene.
The floor is yours.

To the Corporations that have departed from CYI, my sympathies and best wishes to you.
Many of them were Industrial Corporations that were in need of combat traning before being quickly thrown into conflict. I am not a politician, but a soldier in the Federation Navy so I leave the elaboration to those whom are above me.
As for Ixion being 20 jumps, wow thats pretty far *chuckles. Our opponents know what the reality is. Ixion is small but we have been involved in organizing a Defense for the Cyrene Iniative. We were 10 members strong for so long and then suddenly we were over 300 members all within a week! Then...a War fell upon us. Things were difficult at best, I did not even know who was who. I gave my advice, did my best to help our Allies but I will not overrule CEO's and their Senior Officers when I join their fleet. If they make a decision, I followed. That is how it goes for all Navies, and this is no different.
Plus numerous security leaks, inexperience of the majority led to grievous losses in the beggining. Still, nothing we lost was not easily replacable.
Now things have settled and the enemy finds easy kills harder to come by. They themselves are no longer able to fly in safety w/o reprisal from the enemy...even at their home systems. The balance of power is slowly shifting and I can see it in their actions when we face them in combat.
To Mordu's Legion and most of Intaki Union members, I salute you for the good battles we have had.

well lies are an interesting way to go i supose...
Intaki Union does not at this time claim any space, though we will soon be official supporters of at least one constellation of the Intaki Syndicate space.
Cyrene is again no longer a threat to the enemies of the Federation or our allies Relinquished and MorduĈs Elite. CyreneĈs small elite fleets of helios, taranis and the like, though annoying to swat at like flies, are not capable of causing any significant damage.
when you make the choice to fit vessels for escape you have lost all ability to wage war, you are merely a phantom force dedicated to self preservation. the fear is there, and the next time Cyrene becomes a threat (assuming the Caldari do not step in first) Intaki Union will slap them down.
for now we retract our war, though with something like a 25:1 kill ratio and voer 100 pilots abandoning the alliance it was less a war and more a slaughter. We had not intended to even attack Cyrene but they made the choice to bring them selves into the war by accepting Red Eclipse Inc. to ôprotectö it. They caused this beating to occur and by that specific action pushed IU into action.
For now IU is undisputedly the superior combat force over Cyrene, IU has more stomach for combat and does not lose pilots or member corps because of fear and cowardice. This is the difference between the Federation and Intaki and I am glad that I can help in some small way the hearty Intaki Separatists.
it was not a ôgood ô fight but a reasonable fight, a bit annoying having to hunt Cyrene down like rabbits, but IU will wait until they grow bold and crush them a third time I am sure. Cyrene is marked, a renewable resource like a grove of trees. Cut most down, let it re-grow and cut it down again.
I am disappointed that certain pilots who were in the first Cyrene slaughter, pilots that proved their valor, were no longer active/present in the alliance. I enjoyed fighting with them, they were not cowards.
Anyway IĈm sure an official statement will be forth coming from Intaki Union, then again maybe not since this isnĈt much of a surprise. We all knew Cyrene was going to get pasted.
let the GLS flames begin, IĈm sure what ever they have to say will be truly important and matter greatly. They after all have a unique perspective, watching the universe pass by through station windows.
