Hi, I just recently started flying a retribution and I would be interested in some setups for both pve and pvp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of rats can your retribution take? Up and including BCs?

From frig to BS. It only depends on what rats. I cannot break the tank of an Angel BS f.e., but Blood raiders and so are food for my Retri. The setup with the 4 med pulses and running rep works very fine for me.

Jesus H Christ...
dont ever mix weapons.
ONLY fit t2 weaps to it (enalbes you to use t2 ammo and much better dictate range) forget the little nos for pvp. tank and dmg for pvp
4 med pulse II (conflag + scorch) afb II SAR II cap relay energized thermal hardner HS II adaptive plating (faction)

Edited by: FraXy on 07/08/2006 23:49:03 I saw this from LWMaverick once in a thread and tried it out for ****s and giggles to see if it surpassed my own setup and it was pretty good. Some cap trouble but that is to be expected on a frigate running dual-rep.
4x Medium Pulse II, Small Nosferatu Cap Recharger 2x Small Armor Repairer II, Energized Thermic Membrane II, Heat Sink II and Cacacitor Power Relays
I think that was it, works pretty good.
I got my own setup, but excuse me if it doesn`t fit as it`s awhile since i`ve been flying a Retribution.
4x Medium Pulse II Stasis Webifier (I use X5) Small Armor Repairer II, 2x Heat Sink II, Micro Auxiliary Power Control, 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plate
Got over 2000 Armor HP and it absolutely rips Interceptors apart and other Assaults. It can`t scramble so need a tackler wingman, but it is a sweet setup.
This is my lazy attempt to make an uber-signature, please go away!

For PvE, yeah even Angel BS with up to 900k bounty: -
High: 4x Medium Pulse Laser II (multi crystals is fine) Med: AB II Low: SAR II, CPU-upgrade (any), 3x Heatsink II
For PvP, pls consider something else as Amarr PvP = Nerfed (jk lol) |

After reading a few posts in this thread I got the idea that the nos may be worthless on the Retribution for PvE.
Here's what I'm using and I haven't had any trouble tanking 3+ BS's with supports; I enjoy the 6 cruiser/bc spawns which are tougher and more exciting:
4x Medium Pulse Tech II; 1x small nos Afterburner II Small armor rep II; TS adaptive; Nanit adaptive; pdu, micro computer cheap-thingy
The resist can easily be replaced with dmg mods.
4.8 TS with ease. 4 1.2 BS with ease. 6 rats with cruisers adn BC's, fun!
if I were able to login I would post the exact names of the modules. If I were able to login I probally wouldn't be posting.)

Universal Ret setup I've found works very well for pvp and tanks suprisingly well considering (or at least long enough):
4 medium pulse II (t2 ammo is great for the pvp, but carry a set of stock crystals too if you plan on 0.0 npc...I mean, it's kinda a waste and with this setup, very unecessary) 1mn AB II 1 small rep II, 3 HS II, co-pro II
Absolutly staggering damage in close, and the one rep tanks you long enough to rip through just about anything comparable once you get there...the key is ah...getting there in the first place. If you know your up against multiple inties who will come in close anyway, swap a web out for the ab (a good idea vs. blaster enyo as well). Yes I know it doesn't have a scram, but you don't need one if you can kill them before they can say "Align". Wrecks for mid 380's on structure, rof of 1.7/1.8ish seconds.

Edited by: Wicaeed on 08/08/2006 07:51:51 Edited by: Wicaeed on 08/08/2006 07:49:52 Oh I love how nobody uses this ships trump card for group pvp:
Highs:
4x Medium Beam II
Mids:
Sensor Booster II
Lows:
Small Armor Rep II Thermal Hardener, Heat Sink II, Tracking Enhancer II (It depends on what you want) 2x Tracking Enhancer II 1x MAPC
Yes it sucks losing a low to a MAPC, but the optimal you will have with this setup is just staggering. No one expects it, least of all interceptors :) Able to hit out to about 70km with Aurora S, with an optimal of around 57km-60km depending on if you have two or three Tracking Enhancer II's on. Scan Radius is 1100mm, so it has inty lock times if you like being at the top of killmails :)
This setup will generate more damage than a Medium Pulse setup in pvp, most of the time. The reason for that is the optimal range. You don't waste time running to your target, so it is best to pvp with a tackler, other inties, or in gangs with this setup (Although I once did get a solo Ares kill with this).

I use basically the same setup.
4x Medium Pulse II
1x Stasis web (X5 or fleeting)
1x small rep II 1x energized thermic plating II 2x cap relays 1x 400mm rolled tungsten
It fits on TQ, but doesnt seem to on test, so unless somethings changed fitting wise, or im doing something wrong lol.
