Edited by: Orin Fatch on 07/08/2006 10:02:02 So i have been ratting in a Raven latly, and have found that once you start to enter warp or Aligning to your destination, your missiles no longer do damage. But, if (for instance) using a Armageddon with laser turrets, you still do damage while entering warp.
Why would missiles no longer do damage? as there already fired, they (if any) should be doing damage.
After re-reading, i found it might not be so understandable, so i write the situation i was in.
Im ratting, but take to much damage, so need to warp out, my missiles are still firing at the battleship asteroid rat, so at this stage i click to warp to a planet, and in my velocity bar it says *warping* so watching my missiles still fire while my autopilot aligns me to the planet, i notice the battleships im firing at, is no longer taking any damage. i ahve tested this, many times. and same thing happns. So i try my armageddon, and when entering warp, my laser turrets still do damage were my missiles no longer did. Why?
Thanks.

Yes, I find this too.
I have also heard (but not confirmed) that if you cloak before missiles hit that also means they do no damage.

It has been this way for a long time on TQ. What I've heard it was done so to prevent people from warping in at long range, fire and then warp out again. Not sure though as the damage is just delayed compared to turrets.
Anyways that's what I've heard ----------------------------------

its just wrong, and needs fixed so bad, why dont turrets stop doing damage as u enter warp, or ECM, or drones, or NOS, or every single last mod in the game , but missiles DO, hmm yeh im seeing the fariness in that, NOT.

Something to do with the effect not taking place immediately I think. But I agree that if the missiles are scheduled to hit before the ship actually does the warping off, they should deal damage.

the reason the ISD person gives is pretty stupid. Convenient in an RP sense but even then it wouldnt make any sense to have the missile smart enough to go boom when it impacts something or is near or whatever. if turrets can do it, so can missiles. are gunships the only "driveby" weapons in the game or something?
*doh, I broke my edited sig :/* *cries* this signature was lacking pink, I'll provide it for you. There. Looks better doesn't it? -Eris Fixed it for you. Oh, btw, yarr! ~kieron Didn't I tell you?
