Breaking the rules about names and making your name stand out in the open will get your name petitioned and changed. --*=*=*--

You know the rules and you know what your chosen name means.
Unless you're not the only one speaking that language, you might run into troubles you could have avoided easily.
The GM care about those rules to keep the game available for young people too. --*=*=*--

The rules are there for me too. If the GM working on the petition decides that my name breaks the rule and has to be changed, I'd have no problem with it. It would hurt a bit after using the name for about 20 years in different games.
In games under the hood of SOE and Blizzard, your name would break the rule of 'No trademark allowed'. A friend had to change his name because it was a brandname in India. *shrug* Here it is good for a chuckle seeing you flying under the banner of a moderately priced cosmetic brand. --*=*=*--

No, he did filter out an attempt to avoid the profanity filter. I hope we're not discussing moderation, or that discussing is considered bad language.
@Gariuys: Tachy is widely related to the Greek word for speed. Seed: yes, a bit. It is still missing a lot, but the RP is fantastic. Gypsy Kings: They still exist? They must be old these days. No, I am not a fan of them.
@Avon: Boats and tires? Didn't know about those. Good to know. A neighbour sold the beauty products, and she always gave some teasers to my parents. --*=*=*--

I started topic not about the innerdeep meaning of nicknames or its resemblence to offensive words in other languages. It's about direct Russian F-words and obsceneties.
I know Russian players whose nicknames are meaning nothing but obscene and offensive words in Russian. They are aware no one among the devs understands Russian and that's the way they have fun in the game, calling themselves ... ummm... words of offensive sexual-genital or homosexual lexics... such as PIDARASIK, and different combinations including PIZD*, HUE*...
If it was a Russian forum - I would have been already banned for such words. I can't name them here in English you know. But it's really an unpleasant case to see such nicks in space or talking to you.
It's not a veeery big problem for me, but I was just asking what's the official point of view on the issue.
I think you'd be very surprised by ccp's resourcefulness. /me points towards Marfa Gudmundsd=ttir, aka. Masha (See EON #3, page 16). --*=*=*--

Swearing in English isn't as one-dimensional as schoolbooks and Hollywood productions want you to believe. --*=*=*--

Petition and let the Devs and GM decide about the issue.
It is their world and their work respective. I think it would be a good idea to follow their rules. --*=*=*--
