tbh yeah hans leaving hurt the alliance, but we could have pulled through it. what really did us in was our lack of capital ships...when bob invaded (for the weekend and took V2) we realized how much we needed them, but the fact that it was a small POS they dropped we took out with battleships, then took the station with battleships kind of blinded everyone to what happend...then when AAA came down it was to late.

Originally by: Dark Shikari Yesterday morning we found that ASCN had tossed up a small POS in one of our chokepoint systems just before downtime. We put it into reinforced quickly, of course.
Perhaps ASCN is planning on a move? Personally, I think FIX vs AAA or BoB vs AAA would be boring: a total, complete cluster**** would be far more interesting
I have a feeling that now that AAA is not focusing in Catch vs Huzzah ASCN might have a lot more to think about closer to home than your choke point. As AAA is a PVP alliance with BOB on one side and ASCN on the other who is the more likely target. LV might be fun but they are tied up with their coalition against RA and are also huge, although AAA has the advantage they can just go back into Stain NPC stations if they face anything too strong for them.
Huzzah was the focal point for a lot of PVP outlet in the region as people could come there have some fights and not owrry about loosing their space, this wasn't a bad thing as a lot of Huzzah pilots enjoyed pvp on ones doorstep. The downside of course is that getting blue status with PVP alliances nearby was not going to happen as even though relations out of game was good they could not afford to have us blue because their members would have noone to have some fun fights with. With Huzzah gone the balance has changed and there in it's place is a very different beast who is very capable of taking space from those around it, hopefully this will lead to more conflict as opposed to stagnation.

(A little late but...) On behalf of Firmus Ixion,
Huzzah Federation is a rare foe that we will miss. Both sides garnered much enjoyment from our conflict, and the atmosphere in local before and after the fights has stood out as being exceptional.
We wish good times to come for those corps that are now departing, and hope that your corps meet with great success in your future endeavours.
With fond respect, Avernus

I think if either SA had stuck together a couple more months, or AAA had waited a couple more months to attack, Huzzah could possibly have held Catch. As others have stated Huzzah simply did not have the dread fleet to hold Catch on its own, and so once SA disbanded Catch and Huzzah were left very exposed.
Regardless I enjoyed my time with Huzzah and always having PVP on my doorstep, although at times it was both a blessing and a curse Good luck to everyone moving on and see you in space again soon!

Well at the start I wanted to be friends with HF but then you guys took the dark path, shame it ended in your defragmentation. Dunno why everyone seems to turn against FIX we are an honerable bunch you know and for those aspiring moguls that have their eye on catch its a very very difficult region to keep so don't play pokemon with the stations and gotta grab them all. GL to all ex huzzah members specialy the kilsons great bunch of guys.

Finally the logical closure for HF. RIP. Looks like Hans was all that held you guys together. I'm curious what the corps that comprised the alliance are planning to do now. Is it back to Providence with NOS and CVA or something else entirely? -

Edited by: Dalyn Arathon on 07/08/2006 17:54:05 Being part of Huzzah has been great. I've lived in Catch since before my trial membership expired, running the pipe alone before I'd been playing a month. I've loved Huzzah, I've loved the people and the fun times. FIX!!!, BoB, LV, SA, AXE, IAC you all have been great to fight, both with and against. It's been great times. V2 was my home and I'm damn sad to see it flying the flags of pirates, but hey, all good things do come to an end. It's time to move on and grow and come to new good things.
Triple A peeps, that was a damn well played move, and a fun fight. I just wish that more of our alliance had stood up and fought instead of cutting and running at the first sign of trouble. That huge fleet engagement we fought off the SNFV gate, even though we lost, was a fun as hell fight. I will remember it along with the invasion of FAT and the huge engagement in 9CG as one of the best fleet battles I've even flown in. I'm just ****ed I managed to save my scorp through all those fights (including missing being trapped logged off at the old GSY pos by less than an hour!) just to die in CX two days later during the evac. Oh well, a fresh start to a new life. And I lost it in a damn good fight, so I don't mind too much. If only my jammers had worked they way they usually do, I'd have made it out.
GSY, DDM, TBMH, Kilsons, all the other great guys who stood with us to the end, it was great. He who shed his blood with me this day shall be my brother, and I sure as hell hope we can continue to work together.
One last time, now for wrath, now for ruin and a new dawn rising! HUZZZZAAAAAAAHH!

Edited by: George Costanza on 07/08/2006 20:12:50 Good luck to all my former fleet mates over at HF, I see good things ahead for the ex-HF PvP core, hope you find a food home. Without you guys, HF wouldn't have lasted as long as it did. One of the things that didn't help HF was that it was always the same names in gang fighting for the space while the (too)many carebears just did their own thing. I hope they are happy now.

Fly safe Huzzah. Some good memories, some bad but I hope the best for all of the pvp corps. The south is a small place, i'm sure we'll fight alongside each other. Or against each other, either will be fun.
Fix and AAA guys, thanks for some good fights over the last few months. I'm sure we'll have more to come.
RIP Huzzah.

useless in the sense they would have to have stayed in system pretty much 24/7 to keep you guys from knocking the POS's back into reinforced...its impossible for an alliance with no cap ships to defend there space...
and an alliance where like 60% of the people are little girls who run up to empire when bad people drop a pos in our space :(

Much respect to HF.
I found the fights far more enjoyable once our respective 800lb gorillas took a back seat and it was just 1 alliance against another.
Those who move on, I wish you luck. Those who have joined ASCN, see you in space. ____________________________ Sig removed, lacks Eve-related content - Cortes |

Dang but yeah was always on the cards. Hard to balace the fun of the game with the demands of territorial defence, only so many times you can get angry for lack of participation. Having said that its a problem all alliances have to face and there were some great moments of collaboration both pvp-wise and on the 'bear' side of activities.
GL in particular to TBB and GSY, you guys rock. Fly safe lads and keep a fire warm for me Oreh **************************

Well that was AXE and IAC, ASCN were busy with RA I believe.
We had some fun and .-A-. didn't attack any POS while we were there, so it gave HF the chance to up shields on their POS that came out of reinforced, and a chance to slap up more POS to contest sovereignity, but nothing happened and we couldn't stay forever.
i miss my typhoon
