... have to come to an end.
As of tomorrow, 22:00 EVE time, the following corporations will leave Huzzah Federation within the space of a week.
Galactic Shipyards Incorporated Killson Corp Die Diener Melkors Order of the Arrow EVE Scultatores Ilegrattes Moonbeam Refining and Production (I hope I forgot none - if yes, spank me please)
We will leave Catch area; Huzzah Federation obviously will stop to exist in its former space. Of course we cannot speak for the remaining member corporations.
All of us have great memories with all corporations which lived and fought together the past 8 months. Huzzah was an alliance which worked. To all former presidents, expecially Hans: You were the people which made it work !
Kudos also goes out to FIX which gave us a really good time in EVE and, well, which we will somehow miss. Even if we were not friendly to each other, we had great fights with you guys.
EVE is not a game of static things. It moves on and new things always happen. After this, some of us will merge into a new corporation and you can be sure to hear from us very soon.

I will miss my time in Huzzah
Huzzah was the first major alliance I have participated in. Ive been apart of the Southern Border Alliance, but not really. Never saw other members or spoke to them. And it fell apart from CHIMP attacking.
Huzzah has stood long against the odds, and fought well.
I want to send my thanks to all the pilots in Huzzah who put up with me, :P the FIX who had conversations with me without any smack, just as if we were corp mates, and that True Sansha Wraith I killed by myself. my first TS spawn.
:) I had several of my firsts in Catch and Huzzah.
My first 100 man fleet, my first TS Spawn, my first gatecamp, my first fleet combat and several other things.
I will miss you all and look forward to flying with you guys once again in the future in that starry starry sky

Only so much you can do with 3-4 corps pulling the weight of the entire alliance pvp wise (out of like 15 corps). Its a shame it ended this way, but I'm not sure it would've turned out differently had Hans stayed.
All speculation though, I'm looking forward to seeing where we'll be going from here and what we can accomplish in the future

Sad to hear about this.
I kind of half expected this to happen after Huzzah lost the NOS corps (with some excellent people) and then Hans but had hoped you would be able to keep it together. I guess the collapse of SA also didn't help.

We all had some great times and will do again, the people in an alliance are what count and they will move on to better things. The federation could have stayed in Providence with a couple of hundred members NPCing but decided to go out and have a go which it did, alas at the end the relative lack of dreads against a capable foe like AAA, coupled with corps leaving over the last month during that conflict proved too much.
Better to try and fail than never try at all and the experiences that I know I have had over the last few months have been fantastic and that I am not alone in having that sentiment. However like myself people move on and so it is time for the bulk of Huzzah to do so I feel, no shame in that.
Good luck to all the corps listed and to the recent ones who left like Arc Caelestis, Statecorp and of course the ex OCC guys who went to join Lord Spidey pirating away. :)

The writing was on the wall for Huzzah for a while. Hans left Huzzah in a very precarious diplomatic situation which ultimatly proved to be it's undoing. Huzzahs only allies were too weak or unwilling to help when it was backs to the wall. When RAT, SE and Col invaded V2- we didn't have the capital ships to remove thier POS's, IAC couldn't send many because they were at war with LV. ASCN refused to help, MC turned down the contract to remove them. For 3 weeks the now aAa POS's remained unchallanged in V2-.
Hans might have had a bit more weight to get people into the fight but no-one wanted to fight aAa so the end result would have been the same.
Huzzah was good fun but having every alliance worth a damm set to red doesn't help you when your small inexperienced alliance.

Well. As you have all been thinking and not saying, is that Huzzah was Hans Roaming. All corps where recruited by him (with the obvious exception of GSY), all awaited his monthly presidential speeaches designed to glue all the crazy ppl under one banner. Him leaving can prolly be compared to CYVVOK leaving ASCN to mine Veldspar in Jita. Or SirMolle leaving BOB to become a one man corp wardeccing noobies in empire for extortion purposes
Btw! Hans Roaming in all his greatness is also an annoying b**ch! Now I've said it. Hahaa

Thanks for the summary.
To clarify, MC didn't so much as turn down the contract as we were simply unable to schedule it. We had two corps out of the alliance on solo jobs, plus it's been really sunny outside the last few weeks so our manpower has been hit pretty hard. The fact that I was also extremely sick for a couple weeks while all this was going on probably didn't help.
Had the timing been better, I would have loved to dive in and attempt to assist Huzzah. However, as with all things of this nature, it might have been just a temporary measure. Even if MC had gotten involved and helped fend off aAa, without a large enough cap ship fleet of thier own, Huzzah would have had the same problems re-visit them again eventually.
I've no doubt that Hans might have helped hold things together a bit longer. He's awesome, but I also understand why he had to step down. When you spend more time in MSN convos than actually in the game, it's time for a change.
Regardless, I wish the remnants of Huzzah the best of luck. You guys earned a lot of respect in a relatively short time on the political scene. -

To be honest, it was more external events that lead to Huzzah's breakup then internal problems. SA disbanding basically left Huzzah without their one large, Capital-Ship fielding, ally. After that SE put up a POS in V2 and Huzzah and allies were unable to field enough dreads to take it down, although not through lack of trying.
In the end it was MC, or rather the lack of MC, that killed Huzzah. They had a cap ship building program in place, but needed a few more weeks to get enough together. In the meantime, the MC turned down the contract against SE/RAT and thus HF didn't have enough time to create an opposing force.
I realise people will say we should have had our own cap ships, but HF was a small and relatively new alliance that relied upon good allies. Precarious indeed.
Oh, and to those who say FIX outlasted SA and Huzzah - well I'd like to set the record straight: I love FIX. They were the best of opponents - no smack, always jumped in, always fought to the last. They were fantastic and I wish them the best. However they would have gone were it not for BoB. Huzzah lost SA as it's regional backer and thus lost their space - I only hope the same won't happen to FIX.

I'm not entirely sure if it was alway aAa's idea to make a play for Catch. It seems likely that after a few weeks of thier POS going unopposed they might have decided at that point to try a take over.
We'll never know now but if Huzzah had perhaps managed to swiftly remove thier POS in V2-, before aAa had even formed, it might have all turned out diffrently.

I was thinking that as SE did the same a long time ago when under pressure from SA. Also The Collective fought alongside Huzzah to take Catch back from FIX and no doubt you'll be doing the same again with the rest of AAA in FAT at some time.
@Justin Marr, since I left a number of Huzzah members have gone over the last few weeks, most of them pvpers such as yourselves, Ars C and and Statecorp, eventually one reaches critical mass and the game is meant to be fun for all concerned after all. So rather than dwindle away and go back to empire to 'regroup' like other alliances have done in the past the guys I guess decided to call it a day under the Huzzha banner say their goodbyes and go off and do other things. I think some are merging together under a new banner, some are or have joined other alliances and some gone pirate and even some turned merc. ;)
The spirit of Huzzah I feel will live on with those that were in the core even if the political entity with that name did not. Whatever else, Huzzah had the best logo in game and that took a lot of effort by Zarniewoop to get in if I remember correctly. :)

I have no doubt AAA will go after FIX next but then I think we will see BOB step up and take on AAA and not just because of FIX. BOB always say they play the game for fights and AAA seem the only capable people in the south to put up a fight at the moment
ASCN arent interested in anything but more outposts and all the other southern alliances are busy shooting RA. Not to mention that Catch is nice and close to Delve

No disrespect to Huzzah, but I think that fight will be very different to whats gone on in the past few months.

I think things might be more interesting than that.
Yesterday morning we found that ASCN had tossed up a small POS in one of our chokepoint systems just before downtime. We put it into reinforced quickly, of course.
Perhaps ASCN is planning on a move? Personally, I think FIX vs AAA or BoB vs AAA would be boring: a total, complete cluster**** would be far more interesting

tbh yeah hans leaving hurt the alliance, but we could have pulled through it. what really did us in was our lack of capital ships...when bob invaded (for the weekend and took V2) we realized how much we needed them, but the fact that it was a small POS they dropped we took out with battleships, then took the station with battleships kind of blinded everyone to what happend...then when AAA came down it was to late.

I have a feeling that now that AAA is not focusing in Catch vs Huzzah ASCN might have a lot more to think about closer to home than your choke point. As AAA is a PVP alliance with BOB on one side and ASCN on the other who is the more likely target. LV might be fun but they are tied up with their coalition against RA and are also huge, although AAA has the advantage they can just go back into Stain NPC stations if they face anything too strong for them.
Huzzah was the focal point for a lot of PVP outlet in the region as people could come there have some fights and not owrry about loosing their space, this wasn't a bad thing as a lot of Huzzah pilots enjoyed pvp on ones doorstep. The downside of course is that getting blue status with PVP alliances nearby was not going to happen as even though relations out of game was good they could not afford to have us blue because their members would have noone to have some fun fights with. With Huzzah gone the balance has changed and there in it's place is a very different beast who is very capable of taking space from those around it, hopefully this will lead to more conflict as opposed to stagnation.

Huzzah Federation is a rare foe that we will miss. Both sides garnered much enjoyment from our conflict, and the atmosphere in local before and after the fights has stood out as being exceptional.
We wish good times to come for those corps that are now departing, and hope that your corps meet with great success in your future endeavours.

I think if either SA had stuck together a couple more months, or AAA had waited a couple more months to attack, Huzzah could possibly have held Catch. As others have stated Huzzah simply did not have the dread fleet to hold Catch on its own, and so once SA disbanded Catch and Huzzah were left very exposed.
Regardless I enjoyed my time with Huzzah and always having PVP on my doorstep, although at times it was both a blessing and a curse Good luck to everyone moving on and see you in space again soon!

Edited by: Dalyn Arathon on 07/08/2006 17:54:05 Being part of Huzzah has been great. I've lived in Catch since before my trial membership expired, running the pipe alone before I'd been playing a month. I've loved Huzzah, I've loved the people and the fun times. FIX!!!, BoB, LV, SA, AXE, IAC you all have been great to fight, both with and against. It's been great times. V2 was my home and I'm damn sad to see it flying the flags of pirates, but hey, all good things do come to an end. It's time to move on and grow and come to new good things.
Triple A peeps, that was a damn well played move, and a fun fight. I just wish that more of our alliance had stood up and fought instead of cutting and running at the first sign of trouble. That huge fleet engagement we fought off the SNFV gate, even though we lost, was a fun as hell fight. I will remember it along with the invasion of FAT and the huge engagement in 9CG as one of the best fleet battles I've even flown in. I'm just ****ed I managed to save my scorp through all those fights (including missing being trapped logged off at the old GSY pos by less than an hour!) just to die in CX two days later during the evac. Oh well, a fresh start to a new life. And I lost it in a damn good fight, so I don't mind too much. If only my jammers had worked they way they usually do, I'd have made it out.
GSY, DDM, TBMH, Kilsons, all the other great guys who stood with us to the end, it was great. He who shed his blood with me this day shall be my brother, and I sure as hell hope we can continue to work together.
One last time, now for wrath, now for ruin and a new dawn rising! HUZZZZAAAAAAAHH!

useless in the sense they would have to have stayed in system pretty much 24/7 to keep you guys from knocking the POS's back into reinforced...its impossible for an alliance with no cap ships to defend there space...

Dang but yeah was always on the cards. Hard to balace the fun of the game with the demands of territorial defence, only so many times you can get angry for lack of participation. Having said that its a problem all alliances have to face and there were some great moments of collaboration both pvp-wise and on the 'bear' side of activities.

On topic: GL HF corps in teh future. This is not much of a surprise to many, Hans was a great leader for HF, he built it, and once he was gone there was pretty much no chance for anyone to step in and continue his work. But you can't very well expect one person to do such a job forever. It was a great run and HF will always be around in the history books. Well, HF have always been my mates in this game, and it is a sad day that it has disbanded. What I would like to see now in Catch would be a giant sprawling war, of Roadkill+AAA vs. BoB+FiX vs. ASCN. That would be ten kinds of awesome!
I suppose I had also better eat my previous words of January / February - well done to FiX for outlasting both us (SA) and Huzzah! If only BoB hadn't seen that giant cluster of ships at 9CG and decided to come have a go. Oh well!
Hans, you were always a total gent, and I will certainly miss your dulcet soothing tones most on the inter-alliance teamspeak .
I think, however, what I'm going to miss most about SA and the south is Xirt's voice on TS from the CODA days.
"Get your s**t together, ladies, we're going in!" "Load close range ammo!" "Warp to Xirt! Warp to Xirt!" "I killed a wild turkey with a dictionary, and damn, ladies, it was tasty "

I've nothing but good things to say about HF. In all my encounters with them they were courteous, respectful and above all really nice people. I cannot remember meeting a single person who I wanted to shoot. STK gained a few HF about a month back after a corp merger and they too are some of the soundest players in eve.
It is such a shame that being nice doesn't help you a great deal in eve. Instead we have an alliance there who thinks that saying 'Two alliances down' and using is clever. __

It was an honor to be a part of HF while it lasted. Being a part of the alliance in the past 8 months and watching it change from its days in Providence was nothing short of a crazy ride to say the least. Although I left prior to this recent decision to dissolve, I think the reasons for the fall of HF are much bigger and more complex than Hans's departure alone (not to belittle the impact of Hans leaving).
It will be interesting to see how the new residents of Catch operate.

Few things:
Hans leaving was NOT the ultimate cause nor the last nail in the coffin. As people have mentioned, yes it was a significant loss but even with Hans still in the drivers seat I don't think to much would be different now. It came down to not our lack of PVP participation (literally at an all time high before and for the first half of the war) but just our lack of dreads and the ever present fact that Huzzah could never seem to get together and execute a real solid plan effectivly.
Also, I have always been proud of the image and ideals that Huzzah stood for in the public light and the fact that for the most part they carried them out within the alliance as well. I think that the disbanding of Huzzah is the last act of that mindset, no Huzzah will NOT become a shadow of its former self doomed to roam the outskirts of its former home. It can realistically see when the battle is lost and accept it and move on. For that I salute the leadership. The NAP with FIX however was a different story, that I do not support though I certainly understand the reasoning, but won't get started on that, no flames here.
Lastly, TheBold, though only flying under his command once, is most certainly the finest FC I have ever had the pleasure to fly with and he gets my highest respect.

I left my heart to the snipers round V2 And sold my soul with my ammo to the ISS man I've had the V2 cold turkey From Empire to the station city And only other vets would understand
There were no long forgotten dockside guarantees How there were no Huzzah heroes after the d/t How we sailed into V2 harbour Saw Svetlanna but couldn't kill her She was there, and I was home to the lucky land
She was like so many more from that time on Their holds were all so empty, till they found their chosen one And local chat was open often But their fleets were allways close And their kills all came from fast gang chains
And the great MC was yellow; CCP was lean And the chat boards were silent where friends once had been But the safe spots made me jumpy And I never stopped the dreams Or the growing need for bourbon and ships again
So I worked across CATCH from end to end Tried to find a place to settle down, where my mixed up life could mend Held a job in an indy corp Flying barges when I could But mining nearly drove me round the bend
And I travelled round EVE from gate to gate And each one found me aimless, one more gank the more for wear And I've been back to Empire But the answer sure ain't there So I'm drifting north, to check things out again
You know the last gang out of V2's almost gone Only a few hours and I'll be in Tash-Murkon There ain't nothing like the kisses From my beloved Russian princess I'm gonna hit some hard booze all night long
Well the last gang out of V2's almost gone Yes, the last gang out of V2's almost gone And it's really got me worried I'm going nowhere and I'm in a hurry And the last gang out of V2's almost gone
(My apologies to Cold Chisel)

I never liked Huzzah and their 180 turns every now and then so this is good to see from my personal perspective.
This is not an atempt to smack it's just my honest opinion and not that of my corp.

We learned alot from this war. Thanks for that, Huzzah
EDIT : sp.
Fair comment and now you have 3 conquerable stations in Catch or 2 if FIX make a move and hold FAT, I don't think your members have been in this situation for a long while if at all so have fun with all that fuelling :). I have no doubt at all you'll be able to hold these three/two systems though and the next map update will show a very nice area of space for the new alliance you've created.
Well done my friend and look forward to see what you all do next.........
Huzzah people learnt a lot too and am seeing those lessons being applied, the people that made the core are going to do well I feel. Everything has a beginning and an end and thus it is time for the end of Huzzah but of course the beginning of something new for its former members which will make for exciting times I feel.
Was a pleasure being the leader of the alliance for 8 months, flying and fighting with you all and doing the things we did, so one last time people, HUZZAH!
