Cause my dads laptop wireless in cornwall takes like 50 hours 2 download the client :S or i can just spend a lil more and get the proper game with a new account. If yes to the proper disc how long while it take ? cause people say the patches will take me days to install !
Tachy	Posted - 2006.08.07 14:27:00 - [2] The patches from 3 years will take quite a while to ... wait. You wont be able to patch with the original game at all because the IP changed. Go to Frappr.com and look if there are other EVEarions living close to you and ask one of them to burn a disc from their compressed game directory (without the logs and the directory /cache). --==*-- Even with nougat, you can have a perfect moment.

If you already have the EVE Client for the trial account then you don't have to download anything anymore, as the trial client is exactly the same as the normal client. But, im on holz with a different computer (laptop), which doesnt have eve, so I cba to wait so I thought i'd get eve on this computer ! Then once back home log on to my account which I created with this computer and carry on ! Understand ? Cause if I bought i time card now i'd have to download client which would take YEARS !!! So I was wondering if It would be quicker to use CD, but by what you have said I think I might wait till back home and get a GTC for the trial account and upgrade to a full member.

So if I understand correctly, you just want to install EVE on your laptop as well? Just copy it from your PC to your laptop then, problem solved. The CD version is so old it still needs updating to the current client version, so you might as well just download the client to your laptop. In case you think there is a difference between the "Full member" client and the "Trial" client, there isn't. There is only one client and it can handle both Trial and Full accounts. ------ In Carebear We Trust

When I went down to the inlaws in Cornwall, I suddenly had the horrifying realisation that a skill had run out... and we were down for the week. After getting over the cold sweats, I hijacked my father in law's crappy PC, and downloaded the eve client over a 512 ADSL connection (took forever, and kept dropping). I had no guarantee the game would even run, he had the Crappy McBudget graphics card the local PC shop stuck in for him, but i had to try. And thank God, the game installed and ran just well enough (major client lag) for me to put on a long skill. -- ombeve

Why not go to one, download and burn the latest client to CD? Beg someone local to let you use their 'high-speed' connection. You should be able to find a net cafe or a wifi hot spot (wifi sniffing is wrong and immoral don't do it kids ;) ). I know kent is backward, its not that backward though. Edit: Reading 4tw.

Copy the eve download on your current PC to disc, USB Pen, Camera flash card, your ipod, tattoo the source code into your leg, or similar data transfer. The Trial account client is identical to the game one you do not need a different version. travel to the other PC. insert said disc, USB Pen, flash card, ipod, or leg into the other PC. Copy. Paste. Run installer. bingo. your problem solved.

R4z0r	Posted - 2006.08.07 16:54:00 - [18] lol, well it aint my fault cause its my cousins house, hell if it were myn id have like 8meg connection, aliernware computer cause that'll rock for eve, to screens , but they have got 5 houses 5 bedrooms in each, 3 merceds and a ford focus, swimming pool, villa's in differnt country and every time i ask them for better intrenet connection they say .. ''technology these days, hmph, i cnt keep up with the modern world'' but surely good internet is a must have life line within a househod, i couldnt live without an internet :P if any1 does actually wanna burn me that CD, I can work a whole week of 4 or so more hours every day for a week and give u all my isk that i earn
