Change innate abilites like Sensor Dampening, ECM and Warp Scrambling into a new type of command called Battle Commands (you can only activate during battle). It would add a bit more depth to the battle cycle and widen the uses of a number of the news cards.

Yes but at this stage what about other things like pos's that you can have in outer regions. They can get you bonus to build fast, mine more, or help protect the region. This way you can get DREADS :D and Titans :D lol...

Edited by: Cailais on 07/08/2006 21:59:46 I wouldn't change to much about the game as it stands - it seems pretty good as it is, and I think its pretty cruical it does not become so complex that new to CCG players are put off.
Perhaps some of the T2 ships when intorduced could have the kind of ability you are suggesting (perhaps 2 battle commands for a ship - you could choose then which to operate).
Anyone noticed there's no 'Nos' type of ability?

I mentioned being curious about dreads and other capships, however they'd have to have special ways of curbing their power.
Plus, they'd need to think of how to make it take more than 4 turns to build.
Or maybe 4 turns to build, must be built in outer region, and if an enemy takes the region, the capship being built is destroyed.
And they cannot be hastened.

my idea on expansion is this:
why don't put in EQUIPMENT? i mean named equipment that lasts ONE turn, time to give a +2 shield or +1damage or patrol for one turn or so.
call it Arbalest Siege (applies for raven and Scorp only) and gives +1/+2 damage or so...
equipment would be nice.
or agents also. agents could phase your ship for 1/2/3 turn (phased ships would be useless) but after the delay they would return with improvements or abilities....
or even add gang formations. cards that require certain groups (combo between x cruisers+ y frig + z BS) that if met give abilities to the group in the region..... ----- -- MMORPG Italia Staff, Mod, Journalist, Spammer |

heh, 'd be nice, but a great thing to add also in the CCG. i've also put some other ideas.
formations 'd be great too. would ask us to build nice combo decks to obtain several effects.

Aren't we getting a bit ahead of ourselves here? :P
Although, saying that, the only thing that looked missing to me was equipment. As someone mentioned, 'Arbalest Siege Launcher (Minnie and Caldari, battleship only)', 'Tech 2 1400mm Artillery (Minnie, battleship only)', and such. Same mechanics as starbase upgrades, except for ships.
But again.....the first set isnt even released yet :)

News cards could fill this gap without the requirement of another game aspect in itself... News > Equipment perhaps, rather than Equipment.. ;)
News fulfills all the requirements of equipment, no need to make it another type of card that needs it's own rules, :) |

Dreads and Titans would be tricky, IMO. Either you have an overpriced, junk rare (that is overkill when a single BS slipping to your home region can win a game)... or a card that completely replaces Battleships in the game.
