all fine till last sunday....
now connection to the server is intermmitant at best.
lose both access to the game and the forum...rest of eveweb and the world is fine.
logged a support call....BAHAHAHAHAHAH
several posts on the forum concerning this issue and not a single responce from any devs or polaris at all.
this is effecting many many peoples.
so how about a bit of pulling ones finger out of ones ass and taking some action ?

will also add......
at home i have a 2mb adsl running thru a Solwise SAR110 and the ISP is Plusnet.
at work we have a 2mb Sdsl running thru a Nokia firewall and the ISP is easynet.
make no diffeance...prob is still the same.

Hey percy......
can i ask your location ?
it seems to be an issue with routing from the UK to the server....
and it seems to be concerning this router at CW.Net "iceland-telecom-ltd.Thamesside.cw.net" [166.63.217.6]
most odd becasue i was under the impression the servers where UK based...so why im getting routed all the way to iceland i dont know.
most odd.....
u can try a tracert for me to this ip 157.157.139.10 which i understand is the ip of the game server and see what sort of results you are getting....
COME ON DEVS....sort it out

I've got this problem as well and I'm located in Seattle, WA, USA. For 5 months all was good, but starting Sunday I have not been able to see these forums, my account management, the patches, or the game if I don't first bypass my wireless router. Even if I do that, I still have at least a 50% failure rate. Once in the game I'm good, but getting in the game and reading these boards is extremely hit or miss. I asked in help channel today and was accused of spamming because I was completely ignored for a good 10 minutes and simply resorted to the trade channel mentality of posting once a minute. I sent an email on Monday, 3 repsonses so far, all just generic autoreplies. I'm getting really tired of it, especially since I know there are some that can't access either the game or these forums. I personally lost a full day's worth of skill training, not that CCP cares. Maybe that's not fair, but I've learned far more from external fan sites than here, I'll tell you that.

I seem to have been able to fix it. 1 its not permanent. 2 its not the gamers fault.
My firewall wasnt allowing me to connect to the server when i plugged my modem directly into my computer everything worked and i mean everything. Im not sure why their server doesnt like my firewall but its very odd. and yes the error i was getting was something about a socket error and that it timed out. I sent a message to ccp in a hope that they might see whats going on because i do not want to have my firewall down for long. and i dont trust microsofts firewall.
if you get the same thing you may want to try this and just respond if not then put in your feedback here

I hear that. My first attempt after bypassing the router had me running without a firewall. I weighed the "not having a skill training" vs. "no firewall bad, bad, bad" long and hard before trying it. In other words, I panicked when confronted with no skill currently training and blindly jumped into the fire. ;)
No way in you know where I'm doing it again though, got a nice long skill training now and see no need to risk it.

I should also add I did some virus scanning afterwards, once reason reentered my brain. I need some real life "wisdom" implants. It just wasn't worth it. A friend of mine couldn't even reinstall his system once because viruses were infecting him faster than he could download the operating system updates. He eventually got a friend to put the updates on a CD. That story alone makes me very nervous without a firewall.

I have been losing sync on a regular basis over the past 3 days. I will be somewhere with my drones circling me (but this also happens without the drones in space) and, rather suddenly, the drones will shoot far away from me and I am no longer getting info from the system. I can still chat and get my mail in the game, but nothing else. I have to relog to free it up.
Also, recently, I have been losing the ability to type in a chat window. It acts as if I am spamming it and will not let me type anything at all. Relogging also fixes this.
Overall, lag has been very noticeable as of late.

couple of points.....
first.
the game has been running fine for many months thru many different users with a whole variety of routers.
it is not concivable that all of a sudden all these people with all these different routers should develope a fault at the same time.
this points to a deffo issue at the server end and/or routing to the eve network.
Second.
as pointed out connecting your PC directly to the net is a big massive and utter NO NO.
third.
i whould assume a vast magority of bb users have a router firewall of some discription.
so to suggest you should NOT user a router is a BIG BIG NO NO.
fourth.
a question posted to the support section of this site has been ignored.
a post to the known issues and problems section of the forum has been ignored.
an email to [email protected] has been ignored.
come on pull yer finger out.

Looks like they are killing ICMP traffic beyond 166.63.217.6, which is perfectly acceptable. I've certainly not noticed any changes from the past few weeks compared to this week.
The server, I imagine, is in the UK though in my case (at home) my traffic is being routed out of the UK over to the US and back again, probably due to a lack of peering in the UK between my and CCP's UK based ISPs.

To my best knowledge....

Tracert gives me indications that this is the case.....and also looking at the ip numbers.....remember also seeing it somewhere in a dev post or interview....
I had problems with connecting to the myeve site and game server few days ago, but it fixed itself after few hours.
My guess is that there might be some routing problems on the UK side, which fit your and mine symptoms nicely.
My connection to the game has been fine since then...
Btw...for those using firewalls, the port number the game uses is 26000 I believe.

I'm in canada and in the same boat rancid - has been intermittent at best. I timeout at the "checking status" for the tranq server 19 times out of 20 - yep ever since sunday. I'm starting to loose out on skill time because I can't sign in to change them - and my term is comming up for renewal soon. If this doesn't get resolved soon they will not get anymore bucks out of my pocket. Too bad for them also as a friend is aboute to sign up - and as it stands is being told not to bother.

No i haven't had any luck with CCP either.
Same bull&%$# emails as you.
I pay for 2 accounts and take care of one for my friend while he's away and this is not helping me at all.
Im thinking about canceling payments on all accounts...i Mean F#$& i cant play anyway, WHY PAY ?

Stab at humor? Perhaps. Sarcastic? Perhaps. However, the thing I find funny is that I'd probably accept a "Banana" answer at this point. Would at least be an improvement over the silent treatment we've been getting.

The problems are just getting worse. I seem to get dropped from game to the point where people are sick of seeing me log in and out, and i can't be bothered with it much longer...

temp solution.
seems to work a tiny bit.
as we are aware what ever problem is effecting game server is also effecting the forum.
this is deffo a dodgey router/server somewhere which for some reason decided to drop all data.
so this is what i do...
fire up eve get to log in screen.
fire up forum.....
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
reload forum
until the forum finaly loads.
soon as the forum starts to load..log onto eve ultra quick.
with the lack of support action concering this...
i feel this is the best option we have for a while.
eve-support you really really really suck donkeys **** big style.
