On a more serious note, which languages are you planning to translate to? (I know there is some sort of list already where you choose the language, but that doesn't mean that it's the final list of languages to be translated)

Since Im too used to the english version and its keywords, I will continue to play with an english UI. But they did a VERY nice job with the translation, best I have seen so far in any game. keep it up.

Who cares about the germans, fix the fracking drones!!!
This problem has now been in eve for more then a year!
What is the problem, simple:
You assign drones to kill a target half way towards target the drones unlock and then lock some other random target. Fix that REAL problem and frack the germans!

The best thing about the localization are the responses in this thread
But seriously, why do we need this? You need to have at least a basic grasp of the english language in order to play anyway, cause pretty much everyone around you speaks english most of the time. And besides, most Germans I know speak decent english. And those who don't appreciate the opportunity to get better at it.
Seems a bit like a waste of resources to me...

But on a more serous note why German? is that the 2nd bigist player base?
I have had the HONNER of playing with meny ppl in this game for who English is a 2nd way of talking, all have, well tbh out down me and i live in the UK.
GL i wish you all the best with this, but maybe sort the lag out 1st before you start codeing this sort of stuff.?
(BTW for any non english speakers out there, you do realy well and im happy to play with you all)

I understand the localization code had to be done for china and they also say the german translations were done by a team of volunteers .. so it doesn't sound to me like they wasted any extra resources at all

nice Guys... But PLEASE let the Iteam Names in English! Most of the Itams Sounds creppy if you translaste them into german o_O

and btw... german is the second most speakend language in the game :P

Well not bad I guess, just lets hope they didnt overdone it, and it all fits in the UI, german words tends to be longer than english words.

... and I think there are a lot of German speaking eve players. Maybe there will be more localizations later.
The German version will probably help some people to get into the game. Although English is an obligatory subject in german schools in the higher grades, we don't grow up with it like with english TV programs. All movies are dubbed.
( Sux a bit. Wish I could speak it better. I'm usually in listener mode on TS. I understand 99% of what people are saying, but if I say something, it's usually 'yes', 'no', '5 hostiles in system', 'system clear' and stuff like that, nothing more complicated. )

There are a number of localizations planned for the EVE client, including most of the languages spoken in the EU. Deutsch is the first of many to come.

DO NOT DARE to change the font again to something unreadable as is usual with larger patches.
Anyway, I doubt many German players will use the German UI:
1. they are already used to the English one
2. it is good to learn English
But it may help new players. However there is a danger that they won't be able to interact with anoybody outside the German EVE community.

is a german 1600mm II plate thicker than an english one?
i'll stick with english anyway as there is no austrian version

Oh man, most likely I wont use the german localisation; as someone else has mentioned... too many bad memories of godawful translations. And please please please don't 'localize' the item names, it happened in other games and it's so damn confusing.
This thread, however, wins EVE.
