Is there a good guide to refining anywhere? Is there anyway to get perfect (no loss) refines. If so how? How is the loss/waste calculated? What skills do I need? Are there differences between stations' refine ability? How about POSs and outposts?

You can get perfect refining at an NPC station that has the best reprocessing facilities (50%) if you have
Refining 5
Refinery Efficiency 4
the ore-specific refining skill at 1
a standing of at least 6.7 with the NPC corp that owns the station
If you have all that you won't lost anything when you refine. I'm not sure of the exact numbers behind loss, though. I imagine someone will pop in with them soon enough, though.

It is actually RE 5 Ore specific skill 1 or RE 4 Ore specific skill 2

Actually it's Refining Eff 3 and Ore 2 for perfect refine unless I'm somehow special.
Also the standing is less than 6.7, it's no more than 6.5 since I get 0% tax at a station where I have 6.5 standing.

For NPC station refining, the following link gives you what you're looking for. It doesn't take into account what the refinery takes as a result of your standings, though.

I'm also looking for information on POS refining, because these numbers don't seem to apply at a POS.

Treat a POS as a 50% refinery that you that takes away 25% due to "standings", simple

Well if your a miner you will need the ore skill at level 3 to use tech 1 crystals and level 4 to use tech 2.. also you need RE level 4 as well just for mineing jaspet kernite and omber. (.5 and .4 ores) so just start out with RE 4 and up your ore skill to 3 and you will be at over 100%.
At curent I have RE 4 and ore 4 in 6 ore types veld to jaspet.
If your not a miner then getting RE 5 will be the best for you. |
