airport staff have just gone into my hated people list under bailiffs and bouncers.
I bet you would think differently if you were the one being attacked by tent poles. Or if someone tried to kill you with a zippo.
I once knew somebody that was beaten to death by a Zippo. Then, ironically, next to the tent they built a fire and put him in it... Thank God there was a Police Officer aboard that plane! How many more people would have been ruthlessly beaten by that Harley Davidson Collectible Limited Edition Stainless Steel lighter?! God only knows.

I don't know if you're talking about flying out of the US or not, but banning lighters on plane is a law enacted by the congress of the united states, Dec. 13, 2004.
It's the only item that has been specifically banned by the legislature, previously the TSA/DHS had developed a list of prohibited items.
TSA/DHS has been trying to convince the legislature to allow them back on planes since.
That being said, it's against the law to bring a lighter into the cabin of an aircraft.
You can check them in your baggage, but only in a travel/flight approved vapor proof container, and only specific types of lighters.
I work for the TSA/DHS.
Hidden in this signature is a secret message.

Cal me a cynic, but I believe this terrorist stuff is a load of crap, I mean why planes?, why now?.
This is just another ploy by the gov to control people, I mean c'mon!, peeps still trust the gov and the media?.
/me dons foil hat
This is our gov doing the whole 9/11 thing, but their avoiding killing people directly, which is nice.
If 'Terrorists' wanted to do damage, the UK would be ina whole lot of pain. It's easier to make a bomb than buy a gun (depending on where you live ).
Why are'nt building being demolitioned ona daily basis, why is emigration still lax if 'anyone could be a terrorist'.

1.) Planes will never be 100% safe, this problem should be taken straight to it's source before it escelates.
2.) It does seem convinient to suddenly have a load of arrests and "high alert", not saying that it is contrived, but be open to the possibility that our government wants to draw attention away from other events in the world eh?

They WOULD NOT GO TO CODE : CRITICAL if it wasnt thought to be so and if it was a fake. You know how much money this is going to cost the airport, the passengers on a planes etc. ? at one point more or less all flights were canceled.
Also the police have made 24 arrests (last i heard), they wouldnt do that unless they had sufficient evidence.
TBH i don't know why ***** bin liner is still doing this **** , bloody alqaeda >< but its kind of comforting to know hes living in ****ty caves at least .
Lol crazy idea we came up with in corp chat. Get all people in jail, tell them whoever brings them bin liners head gets let out of prison, then drop them in afghanistan lol.

*Clap**Clap**Clap**Clap*
According to NPR and a couple of other places the actual plan was that the bombs were made from 2 chemicals, that when mixed together would explode, and these chemicals is what the guys were carrying. This sounds kind of un-realistic, atleast with my limited chemistry knowledge, airplanes are pretty tough now-adays. And it's gunna take alot more then 4 pints of an explosive to blow up a plane... Anyway this could all be bull anyway, never know with the media.
Please STOP comparing EvE to WoW, they are polar opposites, and are made for completely diffrent audiences. Seriously. |

Edited by: Maximillian Pele on 11/08/2006 03:52:33 Planes and terrorists have a long and unhappy relationship.
I did a lot of flying around North Africa in the 80s on TWA (Terrorists Welcomed Always). You were actually told as part of the safety brief how to react if the plane was hijacked.
In those innocent days you had to carry your own bags to the plane, which were then loaded only once you boarded in the believe that you wouldn't place a bomb on a plane you were also on.
It really doesn't take a huge bomb to bring down a jet airliner - make a big enough hole and the plane will tear itself apart. Airliner insides are also highly flamable, and many of the light weight materials make toxic smoke. Plus you need matches/lighters for your shoe bombs.
And unlike car bombs, or bombing trains or buses, if you bomb a airliner correctly you are (a) guaranteed to kill everyone onboard, and (b) it takes investigators far longer to gather evidence to track down your terror cell if they need to fish the plane wreck from the bottom of the ocean.
In times of doubt I ask myself "What would BoB do?", and then do the opposite. |

Oh please. I merely stated that single words carry no malice if it isnt intended. pc do-gooders then give the words weight and malicious meaning by singling them out. Just as they single out the racial or other 'minority' groups.
You see theres racist people who are malicious and to be ****in honest need to be shot. The pc, nihalist types that single out all the different groups, putting into effect things like, not being able to say this or do that (hate crimes anyone?). Then theres the people who, like myself, actualy realise people are all the same no matter their background or where they're from and just let people get on with being human.
People like you that single out the different groups by trying to enforce people not being able to say this or that end up causing much more tension then you could ever hope to avert. The world cant be rid of descrimination until people actualy just let people get on with they're lives, an let our more uncivilised years slip into the ether.
Ofcourse that being said, if i was having a conversation with someone that is particualy sensitive to certain words or phrases perhaps because of they're background, then obviously I dont use them, to avoid causing offense. However most people i know, know my real feelings and so dont take offense to anything i say simply because they know i dont mean to cause any.
Agree with my view point or dont, I dont really care, I dont know you or want your respect. Do not however think that I say, what I say, because I want to be able to use words that you deem as being offensive to try and look cool. Im posting on an internet forum, that will never make anyone look 'cool'.
Oh and on a side note, atleast by posting what you did, it would seem you are not someone that beleves everyone's opinion is valid. There may be hope for you yet.

Depends on what we're talking about here - it would likely take a decently large explosive or a small, directed explosive to do enough damage to the hull to cause a ***** to form and spread. Even then, if you're just putting it by a window or other non-critical area, you're not going to do anything except rip a hole in the roof, which yea would kill people but it wouldn't make the plane instantly doomed.
Now, maybe leaving it in the forward lavatory? Eep, that might be a cause for alarm.

Quick note: it's not a conspiracy. Government agencies are nowhere near smart, talented, or resourced enough to pull off half the c**p that Jeff Rense listeners believe they can. The truth isn't out there: the truth is that all governments are actually pretty incompetent.

sadly this is the truth.
The divide is getting bigger, and imo it is to late to stop the decline. The worry is that the 'western' life style wont hold up to attack by fanatical sustained attack from anyone imo. we are equipped for a cold war engagement not this. The UK and US leaders imo are in a dream land. Our intelligence (which i think is crap) has to be 100% successsful. the other side only have to be successful once every now and again.
I must admit though - that i do believe that the current leadership of the bush and blair idiots believe they are getting a better control of their populace using the fear of terror as a whipping stick to push through all sorts of almost irrelevant laws etc. BUT i feel they are playing with fire. This is not a pet that can be played with, the fanatics in this world - whatever race/religion they be are not to be underestimated. They are growing in finacial, political and numerical strengths everytime an israeli, Uk, US bomb kills another 'civilian'. One day this casual slaughter of non specfic targets will BITE this world we know.!!

If he hadnt of been stupid enough to run he wouldnt of been thought to be a possible terrorist, and if he had stopped he wouldnt of been shot.
