So with the newest DEV Blog released...seems as though they have decided to nerf (basically) all jump capable ships, by limiting their range to 5 LY only. I mean WTF??? hey don't know about Iceland but most places in the world we have a saying..."if it aint broke........don't fix it"!!!
First it started with the industry patch where CCP has totally" screwed the pooch" on that front. I mean why in the hell would a corp get charged to do research on their own BPO's. when they own the labs and the POS????? That is total BS!!!!
Then for all the long time players who have slaved away raising skills to lvl 5 now seems as a waste of time. CCP does what THEY want and doesn't care about anything except.......cramming more content down our throats. I remember when it was 1 expansion a year and that was cool. But now every XX number of weeks they cram more in.
hell over the last 10 years it has been.....CCP introduces something and we as players figure out a different way to use it, and because CCP doesn't like they way we have figured a different approach...they nerf it.
Also have anyone noticed how fast it seems CCP has been losing DEV's??? they seem to be leaving as fast as rats scurrying off a burning ship.
Bottom line here in this rant......besides screwing all the cap pilots...CCP...look one more time......." IF IT AINT BROKE.....DONT FIX IT" |

oh shut up you whiney little man.
If you'd actually bothered to think about things for more than the two seconds it took for your faux outrage to activate you would realise these are changes that need to happen. The big alliances Helicopter dicking around the universe and still being able to run a space empire is what was killing the game and ccp deciding to fix that is somethign you should be thanking them for.

The ability for a fleet of super cap ships to reach anywhere within a region faster than sub caps can get there, then turn around and appear in the opposite end of the cluster a few minutes later, is most certainly broken. The nature of rapid transport across the galaxy has led to huge coalitions forming simply because you need to be on friendly terms with everyone in jump range of your own space.
CCP is being brave. By reducing jump range, they're hoping that it will no longer be necessary to be blue to half the cluster to simply exist as an organisation in null sec.
If CCP's experiment proves a failure, it will only be because the people in null sec have no interest in actually fighting other players in a PvP game. With any luck the folks out in null sec are actually interested in fights and will look for them where they can get them.

To OP, I feel your accusation is in error. As last week showed, with the threadnought that appeared with the signing of the Nullsec open letter, something big must happen to shake up sov null, as it's too stationary right now.
This jumprange change won't be the solution of it all, but it'll be a major step in making sov null viable again for smaller entities without infringing on bigger entities, they just have to plan more & beef up the Cloak & Dagger gameplay, to gather information where the enemy will strike, so they can counter it by placing a fleet in advance (or fall for a trap, leading their fleet to be trapped at the wrong side of their sov empire).

There is some truth to what the op is saying. I've noticed that bpc are worth pennies now. And cost of researching a bpo is based on traffic and whatever else in the system. CCP has there own way of doing things they always have but it doesn't mean its the right way. A fine line between what players want and CCP wants and what makes money. |
