Edited by: Equipment Warehouse on 11/08/2006 13:11:42 Edited by: Equipment Warehouse on 11/08/2006 13:09:07 Got my cards yesterday, after picking them up from the DHL depot in person.
Seems my cards were misdirected by DHL to the wrong depot on their way to Scotland, as was the experience of someone else here.
Quote: August 04, 2006 22:56 East Midlands - UK Shipment arrived at wrong facility. Sent to correct destination
However when I did receive them, they were in a simple plastic DHL package (no sign of any attempt to protect the contents at all. Definately no silver bubble wrap anywhere .... ), and the CCG boxes thenselves fairly crushed, torn, and generally mistreated.
On the plus side, I've found a retailer of Ultra Pro CCG type things here in Glasgow, so I'm off to invest in such paraphernalia so as to prevent any further damage to my precious cards just in case DHL return.
Anyway, extremely pleased to have the cards, but must say I also (as did many I think) expected that the significant added cost of DHL would not only guarentee delivery, but also care in transit. I would have liked to keep the display boxes as they are attractive, but really in my case that is not really practical as they are knackered. At least the cards do not appear to be damaged, but havn't opened them until I get the protective sleeves.
Ah well. Sure it's just teething difficulties, and hopefully can be prevented from happening again. More to the point, I do hope that you (@CCP) intend on reviewing your future plans to use DHL, because they really do seem to have let you down.

I was quite surprised that CCP didnt include padding for these packages. Mine just includeded the DHL bag. One hit and you could ruin a lot of cards inside. I dont think its all DHL's fault. Considering the packaging is the responsibility of the sender. With any shipper I think you have to assume the item may get knocked around a little.
Good thing your cards werent damaged.

Nistro,
went to Static yesterday, funnily enough: had Googled for places in Glasgow and came up with them and Forbidden Planet.
Anyway, between Static and A1, I managed to pick up 98 9-sleeve pages, about 300 deck protector sleeves, 4 Deck cases (one for each race) and a Collectors Binder. Really wanted to get the Serenity one, but it was too small, so had to settle for the generic Ultra Pro one.
You are right, though, prices not bad at all! My only reservation is I couldn't get the clear ddeck protectors at all, as it seems the coloured ones are in vogue, that and I think I went a little overboard on getting stuff - oh well :-).
The guy in Static assured me that they would be getting the booster packs for Eve into stock when they were released, so might well mean I'lll be visiting Static/A1 on a frequent basis.
Now to try and get MY wife into the CCG. Tell me, how did you pull THAT one off?

Lol.
No such luck here, unless I can somehow persuade her that the Amarr are somehow the direct descendants of Georgio Armani, and dedicate themselves to the peresuit and understanding of perfect clothes design.
My wife can, at best, be described as tolerant of Eve, and this latest facet of the Eve universe is being viewed with some considerable sceptisism.
Oh well

My cards came via international mail, and were in the bubble wrap bag.
A Guristas T-shirt I ordered came via DHL, and was just wrapped up tightly in a bag and I took about 10 minutes getting my shirt out, since if I just cut, i'd have ruined the shirt.
