Edited by: Swae on 12/08/2006 13:25:03 What's a good way to kill one of these? Ishtar, Vagabond, etc.. They are extremely damaging to smaller Frigates, tear up normal cruisers, and can run like no ones business against anything else.
Seems like the best bet is only using something really quick, getting in with EW, web, and a scram and letting someone else take them down.
I'm not really experienced with PVP so I was wondering if there's a good tip or anything. I'm just trying to find a general good ship to take on these things.

Vagabonds are pretty hard to kill alone in any ship. Thats their strength. But if you have a fast interceptor and a ecm dominix, he will go pop quickly.
Not sure about ishtar. Kill the drones I guess. :)

Ishtar you can kill easily in most close-range BS. Just pile on more damage than the Ishtar can repair and your sorted

very simple heavy nos any BS packing a web to keep it in range and heavy nos will kill it or at the very least cause it to run
nos = death to hac's

Typical Vagabond setups only use cap to feed the warp disruptor.

Vagabond, just shoot kinetic at it, and it'll die.
Ishtar, you can't .They are immune to all forms of EWAR can Tank, Can Jam Can NoS and Pump out the Same Damage as its bigger brother. |

If you just want to scare a vagabond away it's no problem, just get any close range BS. Killing him is different matter :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know some people use shield boosters, but its pretty common to just use shield extenders instead since everybody uses nos. It doesnt need cap for guns which makes it a nice machine to try and get it cap independant once in battle. And yes, the MWD use cap, but you turn it off when in range anyway so I didnt count that.

you need to count it cause once the BS webs you with either web drones or his own web, you'll need to turn it on to get range again.
not saying a BS will beat a Vaga, im saying any compitant BS pilot will cause a compitant vaga pilot to run, it is infact the case with most hacs.

To kill a Vagabond you need:
1) A tech I close range set up cruiser with at least 4 mids and a pilot that is capable but looks noob ish. He will need to fit: mwd/web/2xscram light tank and DPS.
2)A cloaked Falcon with 2 techII Ladar ECMs
This is the easyiest way. I am not awar of a ship that can kill a Vaga 1v1 (assuming adequate skills and competence on both sides).
To kill an ishtar you need a close range BS with either a lot of DPS or ECM and NOS.
