seriously, grow up a little - a publish date doesn't constitute a promise or a binding agreement, it's a date when they think they'll be ready, and if they're not ready, then OH WELL, that date gets pushed back till they ARE ready.
honestly, what would you prefer? a broken product on a date announced what, a year or so ago, or a finished product that works and comes out WHEN IT'S READY?
sniff sniff, they broke their promise, sniff sniff.
I take it that you didn't understand the sense morale of what I wrote, so, 1. They suck at making PR for themselves, this way they loose credibility. 2. I'd rather w8 4 the release to the date it's ready not some promise that they cab't hold. 3. This isn't the first time Chinese Communist Productions makes/states a release date for something that isn't by far ready for release.
Do you get it now, or do I have to explain to you even further ?

You see, another explanation commin up. In order for something to evolve, get better, you need 2 talk about whats wrong and do something about it. But you would rather stagnate and die it seems. So go & die somwhere instead and I'll keep trying until I die.

Quote: Kali One Release - September 2006
This is what we're aiming to release in Kali One. The list is created from a number of criteria, the main factors being a "Prerequisite for future release", "low risk, short development, big bang" or "we really need to get this done" project.
* Contracts This is the most extensive addition in this release, something which will affect players of all ages. Gives you the ability to manage corporations offline and create "missions" for players and corporations alike. * Combat Organization The new seamless map with new system scanning, new gang features and better facilities for situational awareness. * Exploration Rewarding exploration of space, utilizing new system scanning and the new seamless view (see above), enabling you to discover escalating paths. This is a prerequisite for Next-Gen R&D, which will be used for gathering a plethora of R&D items. * Next-gen Research & Development We're opening up this aspect of EVE with Reverse Engineering and Invention, enabling you to create Tech II blueprint copies by gathering knowledge and technology through various means, such as exploration. * Combat Boosters Creates regional uniqueness for 8 regions, from 0.0 COSMOS constellations with unique resources to mini-professions and specialized starbase structures. A whole value chain will be created around these items, enabling players of all "ages" to be part of the bigger process. * Ship Upgrades & Salvaging of Shipwrecks This instantly creates content throughout the whole EVE universe. By making all destroyed ships - player and NPC alike - drop new ingredients, which are salvageable with the right profession skills and tools, we create a massive market for ingredients and ship upgrades, which the average EVE player can now utilize to further upgrade his own ship. * Tier-3 Battleships The third battleship will be added to all races. Battleships are one of the most frequently used ship classes in-game and the class has only had 2 ships for each race. It's time for the third Tier. * Tier-2 BattleCruisers This popular ship class receives its second battlecruiser to all races. * Eight New Regions We'll be opening up the eight existing but closed regions in the "top right" section of the universe (No, not Jove, just below them). They won't be owned by any NPC faction and there will be no conquerable stations, only ore and stuff. This is done to make room for more players. It will include various rogue NPC entities.
This is our goal for September. Some of this will in all likelihood not make it, but now you have an idea of our intentions and what we want to achieve.

There's rarely any release date at all that are kept...this isn't something that detracts from CCP's reputation, all companies have this problem, it's not even limited to the gaming industry or even the computer industry...
So, CCP had plans on releasing Kali in Q2, they told everyone this as alot of ppl wanted to know...some things came up (card games, unexpected delays, eve-china problem ect) and the development gets delayed, how do you propose they do then to meet the (to you) important dead-line of Q2?
Try suing them... ---

If you look at from a marketing perspective they must have it finished before Xmas. Or even before if they don't wanna drown in the big new gamesfest.
But tbh I don't mind they take so long. If they spend more time fixing stuff its way better than having to deal with yet another way too buggy update.

they never hit the testserver or not patches that chnage as much as kali will.
did you see exodus hit the testserver nope dont think so, so going by the testserver isnt the way to go.

errrr, what?
Exodus was on the testserver for almost a month: in fact, Exodus testing was what gave birth to SiSi (which was a typo on Singularity but seems to have stuck as the more populary name) as the test server -before Exodus testing we had Chaos and Entropy as test servers (one dev, one public, cant remember which was which). I remember flying a Brutix around (back when they were being tested with 2-3k grid, so I had all neutrons and i think like dual 100mm AB or someting, what fun) in the first week of Sisi going live with one of the Shiva (which was what Exodus was called before they launched it as Exodus) builds.

Chaos was the public one, Entropy was the dev-only one iirc.
Sisi was specifically built to allow larger-scale testing of Exodus (codenamed Shiva before release). Sisi was, and is, far more powerful than Chaos, and is far more similar to TQ than Chaos was (which is important for testing some stuff, especially cross-node requests etc).
For those of you interested, we have:
4th Oct 04: Shiva testing on sisi signup open
25 Nov 04: exodus deployment +1 day
The dates on those make me feel depressingly old ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

OMG u guys. stop posting on the forums. The devs must read all the threads and posts on the forums first (especially the ones that say DEVS PLZ READ!) before they can work on Kali.
So everyone, until September just don't post !12

I think they can easily do it, some stuff is tested internally to make sure it wont brake the game. Hell, they could have got most of this done a month or two ago but they just needed to polish it.
Just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Or something
People dissapoint me. End my dissapointment. |
