Not only does this violate lore, its ridiculously silly in so many ways bulleted list of my opinion
- No becoming half-jove or getting actual jove tech, unless you just REALLY want to **** on the lore
[1] Jove are enarly extinct, you dotn WANT to be like them, because their genes are literally killing them and turning them into vegetables [2] Jove tech is millenia ahead of ours, in lore their "frigates" were comprable to a faction battleship with officer fitting, as BASE stats [3] The Jove closed themselves off for a reason, they dont like people anymore, also, in lore no one has seen anything coming in or out of Jove space aside from sansha forces iirc
- As a stand-in, i would not eb opposed to an expansion of the SOCT, and perhaps faction ships with non-defined tank/weapon systems blueprints in the LP store
- and really? lore wise their is no way to really justify any of this besides "ermahgerd muh fanfics are so cool dont you guys think so they should be canon"

Yes please! The Jove really need some love, as well as the Rogue Drones and EoM; it's a great opportinity to give it to them, as well as expanding the Epic Arc system. Go ahead CCP!
I've always wanted to be a Jove, or at least have good traits with them... "Honorific Citizenship"? Hell yes! |

Quoted directly from Part Three: Genolution GÇÿGalileanGÇÖ JD-67, (W.I.P.) Description, "Perfectly synthesizing Jovian and Human DNA, this GÇÿbridgeGÇÖ brings the tenacity and resourcefulness of humans together with the advanced biology and mental superiority of the Jovians in a single body; in addition, the utter stability of this union provides a robust genetic base, unafflicted by virtually all defects associated with the human genome. This was the original aim of the project; and with its completion, the threat of the dreaded GÇÿJovian DiseaseGÇÖ, the fatal genetic plague that nearly brought about the end of a race, is over."
I didn't read the idea entirely because it is quite lengthy and I'm not really all that interested in PvE anyway, but I'm sure there are a couple of lore conflicts in here somewhere. At the same time, I'm sure that adjustments can be made to make it fit with the lore properly. Maybe CCP can even create some new lore specifically for this ark. Fresh lore is always welcome in my opinion. +1 To the idea for being organized and presented so beautifully, for being well thought out, and for being an idea that actually proposes the addition of NEW content rather than altering existing content. The deer can get it right. What's YOUR problem? |

If the Disease gets cured, doesn't that immediately shake up the rest of the universe, too? Sansha seems to have a presence in Jove space, the Angels live in the Second Empire's territory, and the SoCT seem to be doing pretty shady things already; if the Jovians aren't locked down by stagnation, Incursions would probably end or be interrupted, the Angels would definitely get kicked out of Curse, and the SoCT would get to do more than set Dagan loose every couple of days. That all sounds cool, but someone would have to implement events like these. |

@Wolf:
Thanks for posting that! I wish everyone would read before they made judgments, but I can't force them to
And as for the lore, I made sure, to the best of my ability, that it doesn't conflict with any existing lore on the Jovians- I did a substantial amount of research- and I've always been interested in them! But if it conflicts with some secret CCP narrative to EVE, I wouldn't know. However, I'm confident that this is in-line with the current story
@Heresy:
While the end of the Jovian disease is a significant event, I don't think it would have quite the effect you imagine; first of all, that Sansha incursion into Jove space was repelled very quickly (it was said in EVE: Source- it's on my desk ). Also, the Jovians most certainly wouldn't be going back to 'reconquer' their old empire space- the Jovian regions are canonically the entrance to the rest of the galaxy beyond the New Eden cluster. If they wanted new space, they already have it (the systems we see on the map are only the ones CONCORD has had knowledge of- Jove space was connected at one point in time, but has since been cut off. Any newly colonized systems would not appear on CONCORD's map or database). And as for the SoCT, yes, it was founded by a Jovian, but the faction is mostly only Jovian in legacy; they are closer to being a faction of their own than an extension of the empire (though, with the curse of the disease lifted, they may begin more radical operations).

I'd like to make something clear, I HATE missions. despise them, the only time I'll do them is if I want more locator agents, I only have one 'set' of locators in the republic security as of right now, I need more locators to make my own style of play easier, but I push it off, for the fact I DO NOT WANT TO FUCKIN MISSION.
Srrsly **** missions.
After reading the set-up, the mission and rewards, I would totally go your epic arc and be happy to do so.

EvE is terribly lacking in PvE content, and making storylines like this would go a long way to fix that.
+1 to this in hopes it gets done, and that such PvE content might be added more or less regularly - every 2nd or 3rd expansion. |

Though I do say, let the staff at CCP get creative with it and use this as a springboard to come up with new and more engaging ideas. Perhaps PvE that is fulfilling for longer than the current flavours. |

The OP needs a summery of what you are talking about, or if you like, a TLDR at the start.
I'm amazed that so many people have drilled down to find out what this is about. Are all these positive comments from people that you have explained the concept to in a chat room or something and encouraged to post here? Cause I can't see how so many have taken the time to understand what is a really vague wall of text OP.

I would add a TL;DR for each section, but the thing is, I see a lot of examples of people only going off of the first thing they see. There's a lot more to this than a simple version of it could say- it's no small plan!
(and I kind of take some pride in the documents- they were a lot of fun to make and it's seemed like a lot of people liked how they presented it)

But to say something else- I'm starting to write a background for myself- it isn't anything lore=breaking or ridiculous, but it certainly won't be boring
(Also, to add: Hilen Tukoss has reappeared- and he's asking for Misu Baniya's biomass. This is becoming very interesting very quickly- the body parts haven't been used in 11 years, and now they're suddenly important again....)
And once again, thank you for the support, everyone!

I really like this, If CCP want to use this, It would be a really nice base for a good epic arc, a couple of points, It may be a good idea, not to make it a level 5 (solo) It is exciting and interesting enough, that Just like the sisters of eve arc is accessible to new players who have progressed to L2 mission standard, make this so that Players who have Just reached L4 standard are able to achieve it. With effort.
Elite play whilst good, is not encompassing, give this as a goal, for people to reach, and even if stages are failed, It can be restarted until eventually completed.
Overall beautifully done, congratulations, I hope your work and effort is used in some way.

This is good stuff. And for those who want to argue it to death, think on this...doesn't this count somewhat as emergent player content?
PvE needs a shakeup just as badly as nullsec operations. This would do it, and without damaging existing lore. |

Overall beautifully done, congratulations, I hope your work and effort is used in some way. First of all, thanks! I'm glad you like it
And just to explain- having the arc as a more accessible L4 would be interesting- I was considering it at first. But the way I ended up looking at it was for it and the rewards to be a special thing, accessible by the people who truly crave them and will work hard for them. The idea is that the Directorate takes interest in and trusts you, as a capsuleer, to undertake the arc.
The Galileo Implant would be something that isn't too common, and it would end up mostly being used by those loyal to the directorate. As a L5 arc, which would require a lot of effort to gain the necessary standings for (as there would not be any accessible 'Jovian Directorate' agents), it would be an option for the players who are heavily interested in the Jovians to become more involved with them.
But as for the last thing- it is definitely supposed to be able to be completed no matter what, once you start. No expirations on missions and a very small (if not nonexistent) number of item objectives will help to guarantee that those who start it will always be able to finish it, and other actions could be taken to further ensure that it can be completed.
Again, thanks for the feedback! I hope it is used in some way as well

I am reading through this wonderfully crafted proposal now. I will respond with more relevant comments in the future.
In the meantime, I am surprised that EVE has such a rich backstory with a mysterious technologically advanced and dying race, and just about completely ignores this aspect in the day-to-day game.
It is a forgotten and unused resource. I think it behooves CCP to tap into it and provide us ways to immerse ourselves in this dark history.
