I recently stumbled upon 2 players within 2 days, in newbie systems, both with a negative security rating, giving 'tips' to new players. They were saying how you have to spend the first month or 2 only training learning skills, because that's 'smart' to do.
And if anyone asks a very simple question, they get hammered for being dumb. If they ask why they have been blown up after taking a can-bait, they get flamed for being idiots.

I engaged both of them in a discussion with a newbie character i just created. I was trying to find out what exactly they were doing - the first one resorted to calling me an idiot after i simply presented some arguments against his 'tips'. He was saying how i'm just 2 days old and i don't know anything about the game (this guy had a month old character), and how i should just quit it because i'm an idiot.

The second one, a 9 month old character, pretty much started flaming me after i told some new players to train utility skills before learning skills, so they can get along better in the first weeks - he was saying how people are stupid if they dont start with frigate 4, amongst other things - being completely oblivious to the fact that he was tlaking to entirely new players to the game.


I can't say anything else than, damn, this sucks, because as it stands now these kinds of people are going to send away a lot of potential players.
