You might have guessed from the bonuses that this is a kind of blaster ship. Its not only noticable by the bonuses but also the attributes of the ship. Everything on this ships is optimized for it getting in range fast. Its lighter and faster than Megathron, it has unusually large capacitor but slower recharge time. It has roughly the same peak cap recharge rate as the other tier 3 battleships but when it has to take that long sprint toward its enemy it has more cap when it finally gets in range.
Now you might be asking your self what is the use of megathron then? Well not everything is better on the Hyperion, it has really crappy targetting range, and I mean really crappy. It also has smaller drone bay than Megathron and obviously worse tracking. Megathron would therefor be considerable better long range ship, while still being a decent blaster boat.
But, but... What about my Drones?!
Where is the "+1 drones/level" ship of T3 destruction?

but Gallente is the drone race, shouldn't this ship at least be comparable to the others regarding drone bays?

Controlling more than 5 drones at once on anything other than capital ships was nerfed to reduce lag. Given lag is still a problem, CCP is unlikely to introduce a battleship that can control more than 5 drones again. Also, the Gallente already have a perfectly servicable drone ship which pwns quite nicely thank-you-very-much.
Tux has been telling us for a while now that the tier 3 Gallente battleship was going to be a blasterboat. A couple of months at least, I think. You clearly need to read the devblogs and ships and modules forums more often. ;p

What about Caldari, Ive invested many months in getting 3 characters all trained up in all missile skills to lvl 5 and there bringin out a friggin rail gun boat.

I was rather hoping that the new ships would be an attempt by the races to fill holes in their lines of battles. Caldari were getting a rail ship, and I was hoping the Amarr one would be a drone boat! Well we are all allowed to dream.

I would have loved to see the Amarr one as a drone boat. Would have been fun crosstraining abit for that :)

Would be nice if the domi had a double drone bonus instead of drone+hybrid... specialisation 4tw. Consider, Raven gets double missile bonuses, Scorp gets double ECM, Megathron gets double hybrid, Tempest double projectiles...

Roffels, Caldari use rails ars a primary weapon aswell.

My complaint is there is no t3 missile boat. Meaning unless I wish to invest another year or so to get all gunnerey skills maxed out I wont have any use for a t3 caldari bs, which is a shame as I get bored of looking at the crow, caracal and raven all the time.

plz - do not let this be another rant about the being or not being of a caldari railboat.
Concidering the topic. Dromis is well and fine as a drone ship.
Megathron seemes like something in between (which it will be Tier2 between the Ttier1 and Ttier3) Not perfect drone boat - not perfect blasterpwnageship, but a little of both.
Hyperion will look to its speed, agility and blasters. Sounds all fine and dandy to me

Why do you guys fail to see that Raven will continue to live on and prosper even after the introduction of the tier 3 battleships?
Tier 3 is supposed to be different and not better than tier 1 & 2. Actually Caldari is the only race that even got a ship for a different role. The others just got some slightly improved version of what they already had.

All the Caldari top-tier ships are railboats.
The top tier frigate is the Merlin (Along with the kestrel, but still).. the top tier cruiser is the Moa.. and the top tier BS will be the Rokh.
You should have seen it coming, really. No use whining. 
Caldari have been lacking a rail BS for some time now.

Quite rite, all tier 3 cal ships are all rail ships. So your asking for a break in trends because you dont wanna train gunnery. Thats like saying the mega should be a blaster boat because you traind all the skills for a domi or something.
And that bring us back on topic, you allreay have a drone boat. your not getting a second. All it would be if you got another one would be more sukkier and more tankier... how exicting.
I feel sorry for ammar because there Tier 3 isent all that diffent from the ones they have now. The Rokh, Malestrom and the hype are good concepts allthough maby flawed in there implimentation. (Part fromt he rokh, it roks >.<)
