If he can actually prove that it was stolen, then yes, he should get his account back.
CCP should realize that it is people like this guy, who have been playing since the beginning, who make EvE a great game. EvE would be NOTHING without the player base.
Retrieving his character would show to me that CCP has good morals and a good spirit, and my respect for CCP would increase tenfold. Because, in the end it doesn't matter if the product was good, but rather, if the people who made the product are good people.

I feel for you man. What you have experienced is utterly wrong. Losing your character is like losing your family pictures. They cant be reproduced.
I hope CCP are able to help you get back your char and into game.
Personaly i could never play eve on a nother character then this. Iv put to much work into it and it define my life in eve.
