In England? It's nigh on impossible NOT to pass these exams nowadays. I think you get a grade C for spelling your name nearly right. ________________________________________________

Well, maybe you spelled it almost right in German
Tbh I feel sorry for all the students who take A levels so seriously, study hard, do everything they can to secure a good grade .. and then the Boards hand them out like confetti anyway, so they aren't worth a damn thing. There are people with four grade "A" A-levels who can't even spell or construct a sentence and aren't capable of basic mental arithmetic, so having four grade A's doesn't exactly prove you're any good at anything. ________________________________________________

It depends entirely on the subject. GCSE's are cake, but these ones were damn hard. I would consider myself very intelligent, though lacking in modesty perhaps heh, yet i only just managed a C. I worked REALLY hard for it, but alas, thats the best I could do. I got an A* at GCSE chemistry.

Congratulations, i always marvel at those that can do well in those exams or rather school in general.
I failed miserable at school, not through any lack of smarts you understand. I just couldn't focus myself on anything there. When i did, i did very well. Unfortunately for me school bored me.
Making up for it now though. Im designing the buildings you people will see throughout the world don't-cha know!
Anyways congratulations mate on a job well done! Now get a drink!

Thats those. As is 50% of the A level course, usually just a little easier than the full thing, which I will be doing next year.

Just a word of warning, chemistry at A2, I think is much harder then AS. Did you do coursework or practical exam for mod 3? Thankfully we did practical exam, and I cant explain how much better is is then coursework. Takes less time, its more relevent and you dont get all the people who can write 5 pages of stuff they remembered from a textbook but cant do a simple experiment getting super grades!
And how I wish we had been able to do Computing insted of ICT. ICT is like business studies with computers really. It sucks. Big time.

Hmm sounds very familiar. I have the motivation of a chair when it came to doing any revision and homework. Im not stupid by any terms. I got into a grammar school, got very good SATs, decent GCSE's but then when it came to a-levels I just couldnt motivate myself to do the work. There was always something better more interesting to do. In the end it shows.

We're calling the Daily Mail a newspaper now, are we? That's a stretch
And no, I don't. I prefer a newspaper with reliable news in it, and the evidence for my claim about A levels comes from the thousands of employers who get CVs from people with three, four, five A levels, all full of spelling mistakes and horribly bad grammar. I know; I've had to read enough of them. ________________________________________________

I did the Nuffield As chemistry course -.-. Widely regarded as the most difficult, stupid, pointless exam board out there. thank GOD i dropped it when i did; people who are doing it for A2 next year had to do all their A2 coursework in 3 weeks. There will be maybe 2 A grades in the class. (A class full of poeple generally regarded as some of the brightest in the school). I'm guessing i'm going to get a C or a D.
I'll find out in half an hour...

Ever stop to think for a mintute that
a) those people maybe not actually have a-levels? (How often are people asked to prove it?) b) You are generalizing an entire group of people, and insulting them at the same time. All the people I know of that got good grades worked hard for them. Including the guy with 5 A's and 2 B's.

A-Levels are a lot about just learning stuff by heart and being able to recite them without much understanding in my experience. I found people who have good grades for them dont neccessarily do so well later on (ofc many do) and those who had poorer A-levels can do well at degree level, i guess its a case of what is being tested. I know i found my A-levels a hell of a lot of hard work so congrats to all out there who did well :) and ignore those who dont realise how much work yuo put in
