Oveur has posted a new News Item regarding the code update we are deploying on Tuesday, 22 August. This deployment will start at 0800 and we are estimating it will take 9 hours to complete.
This is a major step in preparation for deploying the upcoming EVE expansion, the Path to Kali. As such, there are going to be some changes made that will have an effect on the EVE community.
The mission system will be changing and missions running on older code will be disabled.
Also, EVE will no longer support Windows 98, 98 SE or Millennium. Unfortunately, we must follow in Microsoft's footsteps. This was not an easy choice to make, but users of these OSes account for less than 1% of our user base and we must keep security and encryption standards up to date.
Patch Notes will be available in the very near future. As always, set a long skill training before the day of the deployment.

I wonder if there is gonna be those windows 98/ME people complaining that it is broken.
Will it still work on Windows 2000? _________________________________________________________ My First EvE Video Club Seals Not Sandwichs |

I think after 7-8 years, it's time to update your OS.
Not to mention 98/98 SE(which is very nice), and ME(anyone with this is probably tainting other EVE players) being helped takes away their work on making 2k/XP work better, and they are trying to get vista done still.
People will be angry, but you HAVE to upgrade sooner or later.

Is this a patch, or are we going to have download a whole new client (ie 1-10 Mb or 400-500 Mb) ?
Thanks

I hope CCP makes the new client really fast working with Cedega, or i (and many others) are out for the next months, until it works again, with cedega..

Currently, the 4556 "SISI" patch doesnt work with Cedega, and it wasnt supposed to be an easy fix to get it working. I have no idea if and when they're gonna fix it, but I have a feeling I wont be playing EVE for a while. :(

Aww man, I had a skill that's set to end during that patch day. Well, as someone above said, time to work on Battleship V some more!
Looking forward to the new client, from what I've seen on SISI it might not have any new client, but it has some superb new features!! -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |

I read oveurs notes and got to the bit about the old mission system being disabled.
I think i¦ve swallowed a stupid pill, because it¦s not clear to me.
Will I be able to run missions after the 22nd august update? I have almost enough for a navy raven offer so as you can guess, i¦m pretty interested in a positive answer here :)
